Backstage speculation on Edge and CM PUNK
Added 2019-10-05 21:33:03 +0000 UTCThis week, Front Row Brian reported that Edge has gained clearance to work in the ring and a return was set. Despite Edge posting a tweet denying the news, there was speculation, bordering on confirmation backstage at Smackdown last night that Edge had indeed been cleared. We haven't heard of any plans or if a return was set.
That being said, there was also wide speculation backstage at Smackdown that CM Punk was on a bus outside and was closing Smackdown, which obviously didn't end up happening, and he wasn't there. We've been told Fox was thrilled with CM Punk's performance during his tryout.

2019-10-06 15:06:55 +0000 UTCWWE would want to capitalize on getting him to return on Smackdown surely, even just to announce him for the Backstage show, it would be a huge Pop/buzz for the show. Would totally water down a future return if he just starts to show up on WWE Backstage imo.
