Does WWE try to build up a new world title at the cost of the WWE title? The World Heavyweight Championship was for a while seemingly bigger than the WWE championship, and ever since Lesnar first held the Universal Championship, it's seen more prominently than the WWE title (more PPV main events, moved to Smackdown which is now the A-show), etc. Does the WWE championship suffer as a result or does its almost 60 year legacy protect it from being seen as second rate?

What does it say that Scurll’s appearance only increased NWA’s viewers by about 50k? Has the ROH run really dimmed his star? Is NWA’s base simply not into him? A Scurll surprise in NXT or AEW or Progress show would surely get an arena pop but perhaps...he is not the draw that matches the social media discourse. If he’s not a real market mover, how does that affect his free agency? I'm still confused how Conor McGregor and others (maybe Floyd Mayweather?) were able to be champions at 2 different weight classes at the same time. I get wrestling that could happen (although I don't remember anyone ever being Cruiserweight or Light Heavyweight champion at the same time as a World Heavyweight Champion) but that's worked, whereas boxing and MMA are legit fights

Can you explain why, when boxing or MMA strips someone of a title or is forced to relinquish, they set up fights for an interim champion instead of just a new champion?

I think the thing that would make AEW stand out against WWE would be to feature less matches and more stories. You can watch good wrestling anywhere anymore, but if they incorporated more of their "road to..." shows into Dynamite id think they'd have a better chance at becoming a true alternative.

Hey Sean, something has been on my mind as of late. Do think we will ever see in our life time a Super-Bowl styled event shared between two or more Wrestling companies to rival WWE’s Wrestlemania? Or could we see someone team up with WWE? ROH & NJPW used to have their yearly event but it is unclear if that will ever happen again considering their recent falling out. Would be cool to see AEW put on a Wrestlemania styled event with someone.

At this point, wouldn't any result start building a bridge? if Tanahashi wins, we're getting a rematch, presumably on an AEW show, right? And if Jericho wins, you have the NJPW's ace of the century getting pinned by the AEW champ. Even at this stage in his career, that's a pretty good legacy builder for that belt (the holder has beaten Cody and Kenny already, and possibly Moxley later this year)

Kevin Kelly on twitter brought up ESPN+ as a potential patform (speculation on his part, not reporting anything he heard). I never used ESPN+ until i got it as part of the Hulu/Disney+ bundle but I see it carries soccer and rugby (non-mainstream, international sports) and MMA (combat sports). Seems like NJPW would intersect both of those genres and provide precious content for them. Do you see a fit? It's not quite ESPNs main cable channel but its got to be as big as AXS, right?

Were you surprised by the Tanahashi-Jericho AEW twist that just came out, given the reporting of hurt feelings on both sides? The most recent "Room Service With Wrestlers" featuring the Bucks and Kenny featured quite a bit of , shall we say, grumblings about the way things ended and perhaps regret or frustration that they weren't part of WK14? Maybe I was most shocked that Tanahashi is the one that started all of this by publicly stating he would ask for an AEW title shot, which i believe was the first time anyone in NJPW mentioned AEW out loud; then NJPW's social media started pushing Jericho's recent promo taking up Tanahashi's request on both English and Japanese channels. It's been asked a million times but . . . could the ice be melting? One past event and one recent event i can't ignore: Khan commenting that "one good turn deserves another" a few months ago, and the AXS deal leaving NJPW without a TV partner. .

I assume on Jan 4/5 we'll know for sure, but do you think NJPW can sell it out again? What do you think of putting a G1 opener there this year, since some venues will be impacted this summer by the Tokyo Olympics?

VoW reported (and Kevin Kelly confirmed on the Super J-Cast) that Anthem is the one that chose to decline its 2020 option for NJPW on AXS for financial reasons. There was much skepticism about how Anthem could afford AXS at all when the initial news of the sale broke. Should we interpret from this latest decision that Anthem really, REALLY went into the red to buy AXS if they can't even afford the rate to broadcast NJPW on AXS? It seems incredibly short sighted not to have, for example, a Wrestle Kingdom broadcast on AXS loaded with Impact/WOW/other Anthem programming advertisements and bumpers and what not. Then again, Anthem is not known for smart decision making
