2023-11-27 01:01:57 +0000 UTCI feel you too Katharina! I'm a PDAer with 2 pda children (5 and 3). I highly recommend a support worker that is full of energy, and genuinely positive and upbeat to look after your kids if that's possible so you can have the occasional "break/rest". Or a family member/friends that are not a parent and has high energy. I've also recently discovered that if life is a literal upbeat-ish musical my kids seem to like it and actually listen (like me singing "I'm brushing my teeth now, tsch tsch tsch, let's brush our teeth now"). Also found racing my kids works well (like I'm going to take my shirt off first and start going through the motions slowly). Otherwise, I'm sure you're already doing it, but only demand things that your kids have to do (like sleep, eat and drink) so everyone is at least happy some part of the day when all the other demands are gone. For instance my kids only like to bathe after a mud party. Part of it is lowering our own made up societal standards we uphold to realistically achievable ones. It's really hard but I'm sure you are already doing your best. Get the ear loops and/or noise cancelling Headphones. I would recommend prioritising yourself over everyone including your children. Happyish parent = happy children ๐

Iโm a PDA Mom to a PDA daughter (4) and a probably PDA son (1 1/2) and I really struggle on how to be a good enough mother to them.. Iโd love to know what helped you most and what where the things that make you say your mom really helped you and was a great mom to a PDA child๐ค it would mean so much to me, because Iโm really suffering thinking about this all day every day๐ค
