STRANGE NEW WORLDS s2e6 "Lost in Translation"

Is Uhura going C-C-C-C-Raaaaazzzy?  Or is this just another alien thing?  Matt and Andy express ongoing issues with Paul Wesley's Kirk, while they start to wonder if Dan Jeannotte's Kirk is hotter?  Meanwhile, Carol Kane keeps Carol Kaning.

Ok gentlemen I’m adding my 2 cents about Nurse Chapel and her just telling her patient that she's the doctor! I assume that even in Star Trek time impersonating a doctor is against the law!! So no she shouldn’t have just said that anyway! LOL And let me tell you about nurses they know more about their patients than the patients’ doctors because they are with them more and see how they are doing etc! Most doctors ask the nurse what they think and how are they doing and there were many times over the course of my career I told the doctor what I think their patient needed at the time and the doctor would order it! So kudos to Nurse Chapel and to all my fellow nurses!!!

You are spot on regarding nurse practitioner. And every nurse I know is amazing. Hat tip to you, sir. ⭐️

Assorted thoughts, not that they'll get to it on the pod since they had to rush to do the cross over episode. Nurse Chapel is most likely a nurse practitioner, especially to be at the level she is on the flagship of the fleet, which means she CAN write prescriptions with the supervision of a physician. But who knows if the nurse role has not evolved between now and the far flung future. Did everyone forget that phasers have a stun setting? Why didn't Uhura just stun Ramon. Also, why let Uhura head back to her quarters with a weapon set to, presumably, kill when she has had a recent history of striking a superior officer? Stun Ramon, then fix what he sabotaged. [Surprised that Beastie Boys- Sabotage doesn't play every time they say the word Sabotage] If M'Benga and Chapel know the trajectory of the illness is the language centers of the brain [Broca's and Wernickes] getting fried out [in Ramon] to the point where the person develops aphasia, Uhura shouldn't be confined to quarters where no one can watch her for worsening symptoms, she should be confined to sick bay and have her head constantly scanned with the future MRI to see her language center change as she perceives the signal/sound. "I'm only a nurse" is my favorite come back when people try to get me to do stuff. I was on track to go to medical school, but after life happened and I took a detour into nursing and watched surgical residents struggle being poor and studying all the time, and having no work life balance, I decided screw all of that. Not everyone wants the BS that comes with being a doctor. Which is a problem I have with Una pulling rank on Carol Kane. there's plenty of people who want to stay Lieutenants, or Lt. Commanders. Higher rank doesn't mean you're better than someone else at everything. I feel like Una would know this and throwing that in Carol Kane's face was not something she would do. There should've been a line from Kirk to Uhura about her having a mean right hook after she busted his nose.
