I agree with a few of the comments that the sequels are solid--but personally I'd say it's a (pretty big) stretch to say they're at the level of the first. Always figured that's probably because Shane Black only wrote the first one--he also wrote Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Iron Man 3, and Last Action Hero (and is one of the guys in Predator)--dude really knows how to write this kind of movie.
