Throwing a little shade in Hotlanta ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Known as the gay capital of the South, Atlanta pulls in young professionals, students, artists, creativesโ€”and letโ€™s be realโ€”horny men from all over seeking a littleโ€”or maybe not so littleโ€”adventure.

Trai came out here back in the late โ€˜90s, when 24/7 gay club Backstreet and the legendary Swinging Richards were in their prime. While those days are gone, BJ Roosters and The Heretic are still holding it down, and Atlanta Eagle has brilliantly taken over Burkhartโ€™s old spot in Ansley Square.

At Eagle, things may not get quite as wild as The Heretic, but we had a front-row seat on the upstairs dance floor to watch plenty of action. Hot doesnโ€™t even begin to cover it.

Over at BJ Roosters, the Herculean go-go dancer we had our eye on didnโ€™t hesitate to whip out his monstrosity on the bar for a dollar or two. And with more than a dozen eager guys of every flavor working the room, the entertainment did not disappoint.

Next door at The Heretic, things kicked into high gear. Back in college, Trai lost his shirt here almost every weekendโ€”literally. These days, the unsanctioned cruising area in the side room with the pool table has been replaced by a full on dark room, and it stays very busy all night long.

For one of the friendliest, wildest, and messiest gay nightlife scenes in the U.S., it's nice to know that Atlanta is still the place to be.
