Making a Mechanical Creature

Hey!

As you might know, I've been exploring hard surface creature modeling, rigging and animating lately, so I thought I'd make a tutorial about the entire process: https://youtu.be/ktXD_WRMY8E

With a run time of over 50 minutes, its my longest tutorial yet! So feel free to watch it in multiple sittings, or maybe use it as a weird type of encyclopedia?

It's quite fast-paced and covers many different techniques, so in the video I try and reference some of my other tutorials that hopefully explains some techniques better.

The project file below is the same file as I ended up with in the tutorial. Tip: If it takes forever to synchronize all the objects before rendering, I can recommend trying to disable all Subdivision Surface modifiers before rendering (select all objects -> shift-select one joint -> hold alt while changing Subdivision Surface Render Levels from 1 to 0)

Download the project file here: Mechanical_Creature_b3.2.blend

Thanks for watching, and thanks for the support!

Also I'm at animating the leg. When I moving the top bone of the armature, it can moves away from the armature. What's wrong with my rig?
