It's time to vote on what the next video will be! I will be taking it slowly with this one as I need some time to recuperate after a really busy few months, but it'll be good to know what I'm tackling so that I can let the project begin to take shape in my head. As usual, I'll let you all know what the schedule is looking to be once the poll is over. Just the two options this time so that we can make sure one of these gets picked and give me some more time to watch/rewatch stuff for future polls.
Mirai
In Mirai, little Kun grapples with the realisation that the arrival of his baby sister Mirai means everything is going to change.
This magical film from Mamoru Hosoda does a wonderful job of exploring the themes of family and the moments that make us who we are. This would be a shorter, more free-flowing piece about my personal experience with this work. I estimate that it'll be around ten minutes and I don't anticipate it taking too long to make at all. If you want something that will come out sooner rather than later, this is your option.
Sound! Euphonium
Sound! Euphonium is one of my absolute favourite series, and a definite standout amongst anime's rife schoolscape. It follows euphonist Kumiko Oumae as she joins Kitauji High School and drifts into their concert band, as she does most things in life. But how will the band's decision to shoot for Nationals challenge her core nature?
Eupho adopts this wonderfully mature tone in how it explores its characters' relationships with both their passions and one another that really spoke to me. This will be pretty similar to most of my other one-off videos on anime series -- equal parts analysis and personal reflection. The video will cover the whole franchise (including Liz and the Blue Bird), and will be a fair bit longer both in length (~25 minutes?) and production time than the prior option.
