July Updates

Hello!

I hope you're all well and having a good weekend! Here in England we're enjoying a mini-heatwave which I've been taking full advantage of -- I spent yesterday at a picnic and just got back from a street food market. Not too much to say this month other than that the poll for the next video wrapped up a few days ago with Sound! Euphonium just managing to win out. I was expecting it to be more or less a clean sweep so I'm happy to see people are looking forward to the Mirai video too! It will likely be coming pretty soon as well. They're both works that have brought me a lot of happiness that I'm looking forward to channelling into these respective videos. I think they're going to be really nice projects to work on. Eupho is definitely one of the more popular series I'll have covered so I'm hoping I can do it justice for anybody in my audience who shares my love for it. Please look forward to it (and consider checking it out if you're not familiar with it)!

I had my last proper deadline for a while on Thursday so my plans for the rest of the month are essentially to relax and enjoy myself. I already have some notes ready for this video but I'm also going to use this time to rewatch the series and refine those further if need be before I jump into the production process. All in all, I'm aiming to ultimately get the video out around the middle of August.

In other news, the Watanagashi guide video has had the best on-release reception views-wise (and more or less generally) of any of my videos yet which has been amazing! It's been really reassuring for me personally to see people still get a lot of enjoyment and worth out of something which was less labour-intensive on my end -- sometimes I need reminding that I don't need every single video to be something more impressive than the last. If I can make content that is useful and fun to watch, as long as it's always something I genuinely care about, that's enough. Seems simple, but I think that's something I only really realised recently. I think I'm starting to find a rhythm with when to make these smaller videos as opposed to the larger ones now.

Finally, I'm going to be recording the podcast for Shion Sonozaki: Deconstructing the Yandere Trope likely in the next few days so one final reminder that those of you in the £3 tier and up can drop me any questions you have about that video if you'd like me to answer them in the podcast!
