update & candid
Added 2016-09-29 19:53:02 +0000 UTCso for those of you who are aware i did a commercial for candid. i liked the app before they contacted me so i decided what the hell i could make it into a funny video. and i love the video.
however, there is some criticism coming out about the app. how it's not free speech and how there is a bot that removes "negative" content that derails from conversation. (honestly i havent seen this since 99% of my candid page is shitposts and it's hilarious)
i never pushed the app as a free speech app. i pushed the app as a fun anonymous debate platform, other youtubers might have claimed it's free speech heaven which was a mistake. candid clearly talks about their bot in their own commercials and on their home page. you're free to express your opinion on controversial subjects with no real world consequences because you are anonymous. you don't have to worry about your boss or family finding out. unlike facebook and other apps that have your face and name/username connected. but it's not "SAY ANYTHING YOU WANT KILL THE NIGGERS AND JEWS" utopia. acting like the sky is falling and claiming things like they have an SJW takeover planned is conspiracy theory level of paranoia. there's no proof. they're trying to create an equal playing field where sensitive sjw's and anti-sjws can come together to debate civilly. thats not what it is yet it's all shitposting and memes but hey it's an attempt at doing so.
i like it because as a what you people call """""e-celeb""""" it's almost impossible to have discussion anywhere without people blindly agreeing or disagreeing just because of who i am. it's nice to take a break from that and just talk with people without the bias.
also i'm not being paid by them anymore so it's not like i'm just saying this for money or whatever. i still lurk the app every day. it's like anonymous twitter.
so use it if you want, be skeptical, just know there's an AI lurking that is training to detected shitposts.

June, "your" candid channel is a treasure trove of cringe! There are actually some 10 / 10 troll jobs by feminists on there! It's so addictive that I had to stay at the office till 8 last night to finish some stuff I neglected while Candid-slacking! :-o

I thought it was just a fun anon app to say what you want without real world consequences. Personally I'm glad you advertised it because I've been having tons of fun with it.

2016-09-30 04:02:05 +0000 UTCI'm glad Harmful put out the info he did, even if it was tin-foil hat kind if stuff. I think it's good to get this out there, just in case. Candid must be planning to make money off it somehow, and what Harmful postulated as their business model is not all that insane. That said, I don't take issue with you making a few shekels off of it and your response seems pretty reasonable.

2016-09-29 20:03:01 +0000 UTCyeah the anonymous part is what i liked. i knew it was a normie app that wasn't going to allow ANYTHING. i think people are just looking for an outlet because twitter and youtube are going downhill so they just ASSUMED this was it. which was dumb. in my opinion.
