Were they just tone deaf to it seeming like profiteering or was it a dog whistle to support actors and producers who are fighting the perceived liberal bias of Hollywood mainstream-like if you want this to be movie entertainment instead of Disney's MCU, buy more tickets. Either way, it seems sketchy. But I'm curious how it got there.

I haven't seen any movies in an actual theater since Mad Max: Fury Road? I guess I'll have to be satisfied with saving only $5/month worth of children via my patreon donations but great video!

I said in my letterboxd, it's basically a better than average Lifetime movie making for a better than average Christian film company release with a better than average cast, including Mira Sorvino, who plays a thankless, tiny role. But it’s just so darn nice to see her in a movie theater at all after all the bullshit she went through. It's hard to even call it a Taken style film because there's so little of that middle-aged dude doing fisticuffs stuff. There's, what, one real action sequence at the end when they escape? Other than that, it's a lot like a CBS police procedural, only they very intentionally show the main character actually keeping it together instead of going ham on the people he's dealing with as per the typical Hollywood fantasy.
