They forgot the part that before you (don't) belittle the uneducated, you make most people educated.
You're putting the American left/right stuff into perspective really well though. From this humble Norwegian's point of view it sounds crazy, but then again our media is singing the democratic party's praises.
So you're helping me understand how republicans, and one of my closest friends think (Elon pilled, he would concur).
It's easy for us to think that one of your parties/candidates is right (your left (pun)) when our biggest debate is at which month abortion should be legal, it being legal is sacrosanct.
We had a dude saying some nasty shit to a foreign woman a couple of years ago, and everybody agreed that was really shitty. Then, after a period of being disgraced he was able to resume his comedy carreer. He was sorry, people had been pissed. He's on a leash. But do you really need to permanently cancel someone for being a douche once? No.
Nah, you've gotta make US Norway. (No, not again. No, North Dakota, you were never Norwegian)
Seriously run for president. You'd win. And I don't want tariffs.

Hey Shoe, I'm having a hard time finding a place to message you so I'll try here. I just upped to the 20.00 level and share it with my fiance Heather Wynn. Could you add her to the Hellworld credits? We both really appreciate you.
Holiday blessings for you and your entire family. 🙏

I consider myself fairly informed when it comes to politics, but this hit the nail on the head of everything I've felt but couldn't put words to. I'm spamming this to every BLUE NO MATTER WHO friend I have via every media possible, up to and including carrier pigeon.

This is honestly the best explanation I've seen yet. Trump's messaging was about caring for the plights of the common citizen. He promised change - a message that resonated in 2008 and 2012 with Obama, and one that continues to resonate in 2016 and 2024 with Trump. He represents a alternative to the establishment politicians who most of the nation is sick of. Meanwhile Harris prioritized issues faced by smaller populations, promised more of the same, and was hypocritically championed as the savior of democracy despite not having been elected as the Democratic candidate in the primaries. Regardless of who has the better policies, Trump's message was spot-on and Harris's couldn't have been more off the mark.

Why? Well, acknowledging simple explanations tend to leave huge omissions and blind spots, here's a few.
Very broadly, what I've observed of my country through my life is that it goes for strong over diffident, even if it's "strong and wrong" over "diffident and right". Bush over Dukakis. Clinton over Bush. G.W. over Kerry. Obama over McCain.
In the face of surging prices on groceries, especially when the talking heads mouth stupid platitudes about decreases in inflation while everyone notices their shopping cart simply isn't as full, people ditch the status quo.
(Now, do I think import tariffs and deportations likely to target the people who do a large chunk of the produce harvesting and meat processing is going to help that? Um, no...)
I can easily give you ten rational reasons why Trump is a bad idea... Which is happily brushed aside by loyalists as "Trump Derangement Syndrome". But ask me to give you reasons to like Harris? Um... Well, she seems reasonably competent and intelligent. But even I have to acknowledge that her rhetoric seems to have more to do with pleasing a perceived audience than hard-and-fast policy that she could be counted on to deliver.
When you focus on courting minorities, you end up with a minority of the vote. That's not an -ism. That's math. Congratulations on getting 99% of 0.5% of the population; you lost 60% of 60% of the population, so you lost.
And... I have to say a word about that "reasonable and rational men realize you aren't talking about them" quote. Good intentions, but once again, a head-smacking empathy failure. Did the author consider what his in-group would say if ANY other group, in the face of broad-blanket vilification, was told that it was THEIR job to disqualify themselves from the libel, rather that the attacker's job not to paint with a broad brush? To prove that they're "one of the good ones"? A "model minority"? This kind of empathy failure is how the left loses its moral high ground.
...Thank you for attending my TED talk.

I am torn between the fact that Shoe kinda nailed this one, but also, on the other hand she has not been approved by The Party to be an honorary critic of our fine institutions. My suggestion, comrades, is that we disregard her brazen and callous attempts to ignorantly usurp our indelible chain of command. I just have to call out misogyny when I see it. After all, any women who would critique Kamala is no woman at all. She is in fact by association practically not even human, considering how low of an IQ such foolish actions would require by necessity. If we allow this, then what else will come next? Amirite, comrades; or amirite?

Harris couldn't see what inflation had done to the economy. She couldn't understand the people she needed to win. She was a bad candidate.
The DNC isn't much different than the RNC. They're both political corporations.
The RNC doesn't really want Trump. He's not beholden to their power elite. Harris was absolutely a product of the DNC.
The RNC and the DNC will again try to put up a candidate who the power elite want in 2028.
They don't understand the people or their problems.
They don't understand what daily sacrifices people make to get by.
Inflation reduced everyone's paycheck by more than 20%.
If they have to measure inflation by excluding food and fuel costs, then whatever else they say is just insult added to injury.
The DNC elite got burned in this election because they burned the economy.
The Inflation Refuction Act added a trillion dollars to the people's national debt. That devalued the dollar and made inflation worse.
Maybe the DNC can join our beloved leader Gavin Newsom for an emergency strategy session catered by the French Laundry. That is how far out of touch they are.
Fortunately, the revolution was at the ballot box...

The retardation of the "progressive" party vastly falls in on itself. Their policies towards the proletariat, who they champion and support have deteriorated for decades and love to save face by attacking the whistleblowers who call them out on their hypocrisy. They are a paradox and madness incarnate.

Personally, based on the videos Trump has been releasing in the last week, if he acomplishes even 10% of what he's claiming, it's going to bring back freedom for everyone. I feel very hopeful about this. And I would LOVE, to see you go into the 4B movement and other stuff.

Why did Trump win? IMO? Because the establishment has made it so people can't eat, afford rent, get gas, or do anything to make their lives bearable. Trump has (successfully) marketed himself as for the people, not the feds, the rich elites, the media machine; but joe schmo from Kansas. Whether this is accurate or not doesn't matter when the opposition was explicitly marketing themselves as pro-establishment, pro-things as they are.
I had the funds to weather Biden but barely. I couldn't weather Harris without great sacrifice. For that reason alone I'd vote for the man who promises to fix things, over the woman who promises things will stay the same.

I think that the best Huey Long quote was "If we cannot save the many who are poor, then we cannot save the few who are rich." The Great Depression massively reduced wealth and income inequality, but that has been steadily increasing to its present height since the early 1970s. Most Americans want to work hard and make it, but there is an artificial divide somewhere in the upper middle class. The natural enmity exists between the 99% vs the 1%, but many of the policies supposedly aimed at the 1% fall on the top 10-15%, which includes a lot of small business people, first generation entrepreneurs, high earners who are still working class, et c while "strangely" offering outs for the actual top 1%. Look at how the repeal of the carried interest loophole died before reaching the Senate Floor....Krysten Sinema wasn't the only Democrat who opposed a change, she was just chosen as a sacrificial lamb so that nobody else had to publicly go to bat for the 1%.
