They should have cuz apparently this crew is always starving! They do know you can eat fish, right?!

2024-07-09 21:23:54 +0000 UTCI can't help but connect the lines of "CUt off their tails and throw the bodies in the water" with "We are the ones who feast now" Siren Sashimi is on the menu for Odysseus's crew.

2024-07-09 20:15:49 +0000 UTCI realize that in Different Beasts, when the crew sings "Woah Odysseus", it's almost or exactly the same as when they sang "Woah" in the background of Remember Them if you listen closely

2024-07-07 21:06:24 +0000 UTCI just realize that in the beginning of Different Beasts, the shot like noise is exactly like the one in the beginning of Polyphemus when they shot the sheep

2024-07-06 19:29:12 +0000 UTCI listened to the audio early too (I'm Australian so I had access to it a full 12 hours before the stream began) but I then also joined the livestream, and I'm glad I did both honestly

2024-07-05 04:59:31 +0000 UTCHas Mortius reacted to the Thunder Saga yet? I can't seem to find his reaction, and I'm already an Ediety Knot tier on his patreon.

2024-07-05 03:19:35 +0000 UTCIt's sad that he didn't watch the livestream, the videos/text information on screen was very pivotal in understanding some of the minor details happening in the scenes...

2024-07-05 03:14:38 +0000 UTCAlso I had the same question about the beeswax, but someone told me that apparently beeswax was often used in ancient times to waterproof ships, so I guess they would've have extra on board!

2024-07-05 02:50:59 +0000 UTCYour expressions during your first listen through of Different Beast were utterly hilarious and very relatable 😂

2024-07-04 19:38:21 +0000 UTC“These sirens saying get in the water” Meanwhile me: *Internally freaking out*
Jason Ringhofer
2024-07-04 17:54:47 +0000 UTCSo, in the original Odyssey, Circe is the one that tells him the way home, not the sirens. Therefore he has the foresight to prepare beeswax. For Epic, I imagine this is just handwaved as ship supplies they have on hand.
Alcaria Bordelon
2024-07-04 16:41:04 +0000 UTCthe melody at the beginning is penelopes motif, and theres no danger motif bc ody knows hes in danger, at least thats how i interpreted it

2024-07-04 16:26:03 +0000 UTCI’M CRYING, CALLING SCYLLA THE UGLY OCEAN B*TCH 😭 Ruthless…ness *laugh track* Also, saying it’s Poseidon trying to get him in the water makes me want an animatic of some kind where Poseidon puts on a beautiful flowing wig and starts singing to imitate Penelope and lure Odysseus in (the effectiveness of the disguise is up to interpretation 😆)
Mal
2024-07-04 16:04:35 +0000 UTCThere’s no violas for Penelope! I knew it couldn’t be her since they weren’t in suffering.
MildlyPerturbed
2024-07-04 16:04:07 +0000 UTCTroy was thought to be near Turkey, whereas Ithaca was in Greece. A normal trip by water would have taken two weeks. They could have gone by land, but imagine if Poseidon sent a stampede of Horses after him haha (since Poseidon is also the god of Horses and Earthquakes).

2024-07-04 16:03:33 +0000 UTCAnna Lea is both the sirens and Penelope!

2024-07-04 16:01:46 +0000 UTCThe mad man has done it again! You've said ANOTHER future saga song title as you speak hahaha
Ryan Ratchford
2024-07-04 15:39:13 +0000 UTCthat and there was only women singing the penelope part at the beginning. Normally it's a male emsemble or Ody singing it. There's also the electric tones in the beginning as well. Jorge said that if it's more electric or synth-like, the more godlike or mythical the creature is, which is what we heard with the other gods and Circe.

2024-07-04 14:56:32 +0000 UTCTHUNDER SAGA THUNDER SAGA THUNDER SAGA I also told Mortius this, but you know how you reacted to gigi’s animatics for the first two songs of the Troy Saga and the last song of the Underworld Saga, literally starting off and ending Act 1 with her? And how you’ve expressed wanting to end Act 2 with gigi? Well, why not also start off Act 2 with gigi as well because she is immediately working on an animatic for both Suffering and Different Beast in one video! Just saying for when you finally react to animatics with Mortius :D

2024-07-04 14:25:00 +0000 UTCI think it’s hilarious how Jorge told us all that the sirens wouldn’t be in Epic. That LIAR 🤥 LOL

2024-07-04 13:23:21 +0000 UTCI was SO confused at first during the first song 😂 It was so different from what I was expecting, but I think the first two songs did a really good job of opening the new saga and being engaging. I did think it was interesting that Jorge chose to use the modern interpretation of sirens- as you might remember from Percy Jackson, Greek sirens are more like harpies than mermaids. Thanks for being so dedicated and getting these out so fast!

2024-07-04 13:22:37 +0000 UTCCasper's prophecy is a part-time thing. Sometimes we get super specific accidental predictions, sometimes it's Wet Hades or Lady Poseidon :D
draeonic 🪼
2024-07-04 13:15:22 +0000 UTCSuper cruel, but also kind of dumb. How does he know for sure they'll drown without their tails? What if he's just maimed and pissed off more monsters?
draeonic 🪼
2024-07-04 13:13:25 +0000 UTCThis Odysseus honestly scares me. 😅 Cause if he just killed the sirens, okay, yeah, fair enough. But "cut off their tails, throw them back in the water, let them drown"? Dude that is HORRIFYING. Cruel. He really said Ruthless Monster, huh. O-O The way you can hear them screaming...
Kathrine0114
2024-07-04 13:11:25 +0000 UTCI guess no danger motif because Odysseus never feels like there is any danger.

2024-07-04 12:59:32 +0000 UTCDifferent Beast: That whole first part, the realisation of going from "What's going on?" to "Damn Odysseus!" was very relatable. Polites would be so heartbroken seeing him like this. "Where'd they get beeswax from?" Candles? Maybe? But I had that same question Loved the explanation of the Siren's voices not sounding smooth. Makes loads of sense!
Michelle Schaefer
2024-07-04 12:55:42 +0000 UTCHate to bring this up again, but you have just made another correct prediction.

2024-07-04 12:49:00 +0000 UTCWas just checking one thing as I remembered it from 20+ years ago when I did classical studies at school. In the book odysseus instructs the crew to tie him to the mast and for them to plug their ears with beeswax as Odysseus wants to hear their song.
Liz Lilliman
2024-07-04 12:47:46 +0000 UTCSuffering: The reaction after "The things I do for you" had me laughing like crazy. Also you picking up on the "mermaid like whispers" in the literal siren song makes me so happy. Sir, don't hate on Prophet Caspar. True prophet. Let's start a religion, right now. "So that's the ugly ocean bitch!" - nice quote You hear the piano of Athena because Odysseus is being a Warrior of the Mind. The choir theory makes sense with what you know but it's not a godly choir but the other sirens. Also "He will chase you high and low, so find a place he'd never go. The one way you'll get home is sailing where he's scared to go. The lair of Scylla." is the same melody as "He will burn your house and home and find you wherever you go. The gods will make him know. This is the will of the gods." in The Horse and Infant. I hadn't made the connection to Polyphemus but damn that's true.
Michelle Schaefer
2024-07-04 12:47:25 +0000 UTCHe could of walked or ridden a good majority but Ithaca is a smallish (not too small but not big) island so they would of been a sea fairing nation probably and therefore would have ships but probably not enough livestock to travel the numbers and distance between Ithaca and troy.
Liz Lilliman
2024-07-04 12:35:19 +0000 UTCOmg I was awake passed 12 UK time and didn't realize. I think this is another god. Don't want to say who in case I'm wrong but I've heard one of the tunes in the 1st saga.
Liz Lilliman
2024-07-04 12:26:30 +0000 UTCThe first thing I noticed is how there's no viola; like, ayo that's not Penelope, and the fact it's almost acapella really gives you the hint that something's off. And I love that it feels odd but it's honestly such a bop lol What a genius way to make a song about sirens trying to drown you
