Print Comic?

So, a few weeks ago a friend suggested I do a kickstarter for a printed book, like an art book for a coffee table. A German art magazine had also contacted me about featuring one of my images in an upcoming issue at about the same time, so I started thinking about options for print.
The main problem about doing anything for a print book is the resolution. For anybody who doesn't know, an image made for a screen only needs to be 72-96 pixels per inch for it to look fine. For professional printing it has to be 300. If I tried to render all my comics at that size my output would slow to a crawl. That's why all the comics I currently make are designed to fit on an HD monitor.
The exception to this is rendering in black and white. Not rendering in color cuts the rendering time down to a fraction of what it is normally, making up for the time required for the larger images. So a black and white print project would be possible. I didn't really like the printing options for an art book, but there were plenty of options out there for printing a comic book.
Which got me to thinking about a story for that format. And this is what I came up with:

I'm looking at doing a kickstarter for the print version early next year. I'm aiming for a relatively short page count of 48 pages, just big enough to give it a spine. The digital version would be treated like any of my other comics, with individual pages and a completed PDF aavailable for patrons in the $20 and above tiers, and up for sale on lulu.
