The midwest mushroom story doesn't surprise me. One thing I've noticed in Indiana is that more and more people are wanting to to hunt for mushrooms like the Morel and Hen of the Wood. There is a similar looking poisonous mushroom like the False Morel, I don't think the other mushroom has one. Aside from that I'm surprised that there hasn't been really any serious talk around the increasing market (and the risks surrounding) the psychedelic edibles containing the amanita muscaria aka fly agaric mushrooms 🍄. They are completely legal in the US, but they are much more dangerous than the illegal alternative shrooms that we all know of. People who consider eating these really shouldn't. I know this comment is late, but I figured it wouldn't make sense to post on the Friday episode comment section about this topic. Sorry if this comment is considered inappropriate for the platform.

2024-08-01 16:35:38 +0000 UTCWhen i was in 5th grade way back in 1977 we learned there were six continents Europe and Asia being combined and called EurAsia. Then in 7th grade we were told it didn’t stick and there were 7 🤪
