I liked the first one but zombieland2 felt like they were trying to capture the same lighting in a new bottle. It came off as overly zaney to me.

I tried to listen to the audio drama and I'm unsure if it's a stand alone story or if it's a retelling of the short story, but I don't recommend the audio drama it was DRY but the movie is super cool and the author of the book has a cameo in the beginning, he's one of the people in the group singing or something.

Shaun of the Dead and the 28 Days/Weeks Later movies are definitely in my top 5, but the movie I really wanted to give special mention to is Pontypool. It’s a low budget Canadian movie from 2008. These aren’t “traditional” zombies and it’s more psychological thriller than on screen action, so if you’re looking for running and shooting and gore, this isn’t for you. I just really enjoyed the way they approached the reveal of the outbreak. I thought the mechanism for the transfer of the virus in this movie was really unique and I really like how they use the genre to portray a social issue the way Romero did with his movies as well.

2024-10-11 09:26:32 +0000 UTC28 weeks later opening is insane. I actually think Dawn of the dead remake openin also hits the ground running literally. My favorite zombie movie is Return of the living dead.

2024-10-11 05:23:51 +0000 UTCMy favorite type of Zombie movie is Zombieland and its sequel. The list of rules to surviving is just amazing and funny tropes (it’s like aware it’s a movie about Zombies in a Zombie movie - a little like the Scream movies).
