2024-06-29 03:05:39 +0000 UTCI know more serious topics were discussed, but I want Ashley to know - I have owned Sun Haven forever and only started playing yesterday. I am also playing as a demon. I'm glad I'm in good company lol.

2024-06-28 17:40:37 +0000 UTCSo, here's the thing. The way last night's debate was formatted -- with literally little to no moderation -- really heavily, heavily (repeated for emphasis) favored Trump, allowing him to "gish gallop." If you're not familiar with the term, look it up. Basically a debate tactic to spew an endless stream nonsense to run roughshod over the debate process, making it very difficult for the opponent to then respond to the panel's questions much less the stream of accusations and falsehoods coming from the other debater. A million years ago when I was on a high school debate team we learned about this gish galloping debate "tactic." We were taught not to use this tactic, but were learning about it so we'd be aware so we could call it out during our competitions. How did we counter gish galloping? Talking faster than our opponent until the debate moderators regained control of the debate. That's about all you can do. What if your debate either has no moderators or a panel that refuses/declines to moderate? Well, then you're kinda SOL and the whole affair becomes something that is decidedly -not- a debate. Which is kinda whatever CNN had last night -- it was not a debate.

2024-06-28 15:31:59 +0000 UTCPublic Dys-course. Dyyyyyse-course. Hm. Like dystopia? Google tells me that 'dys' is a prefix for "bad, ill, abnormal, impaired, difficult, etc." That sounds about right, but I bet Burnie's pun is more specific. Voting for the 15th beer at Chili's sounds like a bad idea - but not necessarily worse than a Giant Douche or a Turd Sandwich (now THAT'S a South Park-original reference. Probably).
