Do you mean the BRIGAYDE? If so, the main reason Cam was never in that book is that it wouldn't have been sensical to include him given that his story and current plot-line takes place millions of light years away from Earth. I get the OG connection for sure -- and if it could have worked, it would have been super cool -- but I think it's more authentic to his character that he never got involved since he has his hands full with saving Locus, etc. But I absolutely get why you wondered about this, given that Cam was like the first OC I ever came up with. ππ₯°
