Almost Escaped WIP

That was all the inspiration I initially had for these 3 to make their first entry in my gallery!
Lots of re-draws on body parts to get the feel just right. Ive gotten a lot better at this sort of thing since but hopefully it shows any new artists that you dont actually have to get everything right on your first go.
There originally plans to have this be more of a wild west setting but the other pictures I did around that time had themes that were too similar and I'm all about making things distinctly different. Also I was going to give Diesel the Dobermann some nifty sun glasses too but decided against it for more individuality. He is the more cheeky of the pair!
Line work was extra thick back then and less refined when it came to fur tufts. I was actually being inspired by a more cartoony look at the time but have since found my own groove.
The choice of species involved was a no brainier. So much so in fact that I was worried about it being a little too cliche, but it worked out to be one of my most popular images in the end.
These guys have been showing up in sequels, gifts, fan art and inspired stuff ever since these relatively humble beginnings!

I'm happy to see you getting even more from this old content. Sheps a bit of a trouble maker and seems to come across as the one in charge a lot of the time. I really didn't expect these 2 to blow up the way they did as this idea was one of those I put very little thought into initially. When you break it down, its every cliche in one with the guard dog breeds and the thieving Raccoon archetypes! But what really sealed the deal was knowing they were all available as new comers to my gallery so it was perfect opportunity to get a bunch of species I had yet to make OCs of all done at once to fit this very specific situation.

Honestly, I think them being the breeds that they are in that occupation makes them even more charming. While I like them both, Shepard definitely seals the deal for me, guess I just really like a guy with a tie n formal attires, and those shades help exude that charming look of him, doesn't help that he's one of my favorite breeds either AND the fact that you are just really good and the way you draw things is absolutely captivating as heck, I could go on and on about it, lowkey enamored by the guy, either way, thank you very much for drawing these images, seeing these WIPs o Shep is insanely cool, absolutely made my night <3

2022-12-05 08:49:25 +0000 UTCI tend to save up a special idea to use with them since they are popular and I have a few more where those came from on my huge to do, art list! I agree that the bear needs to be checked on soon. Cant let those big guys think they have power over the law!
