Laser Lass enjoys not only a victory over a renowned super villain, but a date with the cutest boy in school as she inadvertently streaks across the verdant quad of Awesome University. Lars's suspicions about any possible secrets she might be harbouring have been dismissed for the time being, owing to the vagaries of ancillary comic book characters since time immemorial. Lucky thing, there!

And that about wraps it up for Laser Lass! I know there are those among you who would like to see her adventures continue forever, but all good things must come to an end, and we'll definitely be seeing her again: most likely teamed up with her mentor since that's what she normally does. For now, however it's onto other things! And what are other things? Well, I'm very glad you asked that, dear Patron!

For the next little while, not sure how long, but certainly into the new year, I'll be going back to doing one-offs. Somewhere along the line, I burned my buffer for Laser Lass and found myself finishing up new pages just in time to upload them, which is not an ideal situation when you've got paying customers expecting fresh content every week. I got lucky and never missed a deadline, but if something happened and I lost some drawing time, as almost happened when the power was out here for a couple of days, I would have been screwed. So I vowed no more! I will always have at least a ten page buffer for anything I do going forward. Nobody needs that kind of stress in their life. 😅 One offs are faster to do than comic pages, so I'm hoping I can draw up a backlog of story pages in between creating fun pin ups and mini comics at the same time.

Another change going forward is that I plan to switch between one offs and stories with a little more regularity. I'm told that variety is the sriracha sauce that gives life its kick, so I'm not going to keep you guys locked into a story until its completion. From now on, it'll be 10-12 weeks of comic story, followed by 10-12 weeks of one-off stuff. This will make the stories take longer to play out, admittedly, but it will also serve to give everyone a break from the same narrative week after week. If nothing else, it'll give me a chance to stretch my skills and give myself more of a variety of subject matter to draw instead of the same character over and over for a year. Not that Trudy wasn't great and all, but it's always fun to draw someone else's boobs once in a while.

Oh speaking of stories, I've also done some design work on the main character of our next story; Violet Van Vyle, mistress of evil espionage and agent of VYZER. Here are a couple of sketches I did up during the development process. The colour one is closest to what she'll actually look like, but I am making adjustments on the page as I draw her. The two ladies in pencil in the second one, there, are just me practising surprised expressions. They do look pretty shocked to see her, though.
