Dev Blog #25

Alright, so it's been a good chunk of time since the last dev blog and I wanted to give everyone an update on what we've been working on and are currently working on.  We've been doing our best to keep moving development forward on the updates but with the quarantine situations affecting a lot of jobs, our schedules have been hectic.

Update Status: Originally I was hoping to get the update finished a week ago but we still to finish programming the scenes in to the game which Pale Horse is working on right now.  So were hoping to get this update buttoned up by the end of the month but I can't promise anything but that's what we're shooting for without completely killing ourselves.

I'm currently working on tightening up the overall story and locking down all of the details for the Beast Hunting Arc.  This update will be very short though with content but it will have very good scenes.  I spent a lot of time really drawing and animating the scenes out and I'm really proud how the animations turned out.  A lot of what we've been working on is developing tools and systems for when we progress the story and get the players into the meat of the game (which will be the update after this one).

New Tools Developed: If you remember from my last dev blog, I mentioned how I was developing a new shader that can help me create environment scenes in 3d and render to match my drawing style.  Well, I went on a slight development tangent and started putting together organized kits that I can pull from to start putting scenes together ^_^  It was a massive endeavor but it's going to be so worth it.  I was having a little too much fun with these @.@

Lyla's hunting outfit design has been locked down and it looks amazing.  It won't show up on this update and the design is way past Lyla's comfort level but it's very titillating and embarrassing for her.

Side note: apparently there's this art meme trending on twitter about Redrawing Sailor Moon.  I decided to put something together for that.  You can see the full piece here (It's a little too spicy to put the whole thing here):

Thanks everyone for being so patient and enjoying the journey with us!  It's getting there and it'll be great!  I'm really pushing to make this game to be considered to have one of the best stories for games in this genre so I'm putting a lot of effort tightening Lyla's adventure up.

Fantastic to hear from you, guys! Really good to see that you're streamlining the workflow for yourselves too. Removing the grind is half the battle in development anyway. Love the work you've put out so far, and hope to see you develop further and make this project, and all your future projects (in the words of Borat) "great success!"
