Overanalyzing Korra: The Stakeout

Not sure if anyone said this already, but the rest of team avatar was sent to jail in season 1 after power got shut off for non-benders, so they would have mugshots of the entire gang that are relatively recent.

Regarding Bolin and Asami's Pai Sho scene, I think it plays into their characters well in a hidden way that no one brings up cuz it wasn't outright stated. Recall that 'multiple sets of rules' line; meaning after the first game, they understood they were playing differently, and for continuation would probably have agreed to play by the same ruleset from then on. Asami, winning over 17 times in a row, likely convinced Bolin to use her rules. And not once did Bolin want to change the way they were playing, only win at 'her game'. If they spelled out these things, it would highlight both Bolin's niceness (and unwillingness to impose, whatever that's called), and might allow for Asami to show some humility by offering to play with his ruleset, and probably losing at that point. Effectively, it's like if you played Rock Paper Scissors at your friend's house, playing under his house rule of the order being reversed (scissors now beats Rock and so on). Having it flipped, as you suggested would certainly add more depth to their character, but this has been my headcanon for years and thought I'd share.

Also it’s been a huge mess cleaning up after seamore.

Lewis Williams

Yaaaa! I’m not disappointed.

I think I remember him at one point mentioning he's reading the first Kyoshi novel. But based on some of the stuff he's said I assume he hasn't read Yangchen's novels yet.

Vilmu

I’m always surprised when OA misses canonical details from the books. I’d be interested to know if he read them. OA if you read this, have you read them? If you haven’t, would you share why not?

I’m biased since I’m a die hard Korra fan and I also understand and can respect a lot of the criticisms from the show. But the poison idea is such a creative way to work around established lore without breaking it and I think your really wrong to criticise it. I like to see a universes lore pushed and explored as far as possible with new and creative ideas like what Ryan Johnson attempted with the last Jedi but actually good. My problems lies with her avatar state fight vs Zaheer afterwards, she really just flies a bit throws a giant rock then collapses. I would of like to have seen zaheer fly for his life as korra went full power trying to kill him, then collapse like she did from the exhaustion and the poison

once the white lotus came out of hiding, they would of let more people in. this would of caused people like the red lotus to leave due to it being against what they believe, and also effectively lower the average skill that the white lotus would have.

its probably like, there are certain places in the real world that correspond to other places in the spirit world, but different places can correspond to the same place. Like there could be a place in the fire nation, and in an air temple that correspond to the same place in the spirit world.

I’m late too, had to update my membership.

Yep, your body will eventually die if your spirit is trapped in the fog. Happened in the novels.

The “gold” line was from ATLA when the white lotus contact in the misty palms oasis started the riot to help Iroh and Zuko escape. You hear someone excitedly say, “gold?”

Louis Scarlati

People literally live in Nevada.

THERE'S NO RUNNING NEAR THE POOL

I have a suspicion that OA is gonna be really conflicted on the scene.
