I legit teared up at the Iroh/Four Elements edit in this video, bloody well done

Elice Thomas

I somehow completely missed this episode when it first aired. Like, I remember all the commercials for it hyping up Toph's training regiment. But I didn't actually watch it until after the series was over. So... there's that. When I DID see it, it blew my mind. Easily one of my favorites. Like damn. Season 2 is just so good. And three episodes in my top five happen in a fucking row. Honestly, one of my favorite Aang episodes/subplots. His flaws are believable and relatable, but you also feel the frustration they cause. For once him "just being a kid" isn't taken as an excuse. This isn't a bunch of "dumb adults" putting too much pressure on him. It's another kid. Same age as him. With an even bigger disadvantage. So he has no excuses. I like that. No excuses. Also his chemistry with Toph is great. Really wish more episodes were about the two of them playing off one another. But of course, the Zuko subplot is the best. Like, it doesn't totally overshadow the hero plotline. Both subplots even each other out perfectly. But, c'mon, the Zuko and Iroh shit always hits me. Iroh is so wise. Whoever was in charge of writing his lines is a fucking genius. His "four elements" monologue always gets me. Not just from a philosophy standpoint, but a storytelling one as well. It really got me even more invested to see what person Zuko will become. How strong he'll be. And it drew on his connection to Aang. Hard to really explain. It just gave me chills. But anyway, good episode. It's fucking good. I could rewatch it and this string of good episodes over and over again.

The Iroh/four elements edit…that was really well done. Great job.
