In regards to your question about if Katara's healing would "work" on Jet's brain, Waterbending's healing seems to affect the chi paths, as the dummy in The Waterbending Master showed, to encourage the body to heal. So, using those abilities to try and heal the brainwashing and conditioning isn't out of the realm of possibility, at least to me.

I think the Blue Spirit was Zuko’s manifestation of a character willing to do anything. Did he want to betray the Fire Nation to set Aang free? No so the Blue Spirit did it. Did he want to threaten that man for money? No so the Blue Spirit did. Zuko throwing away the mask is him taking responsibility for his actions

I think the Lake Lagoi phrase sorta acts as a "trigger word." I am not completely sure, but I believe this is a method used in real life. I heard something like this happening for the killer of JFK, who was prompted to go through with his plan by a certain key word.

The blue spirit mask represents addiction. How far zuko is willing to go for the avatar. That's why when he gets rid of it like most addictions he gets draw back sickness

Ok i dont think Jet deserved to die but the reason i at least hate him is because he's based on a whole "the ends justify the means" mentality which can be super disgusting and was with him. Jet went too far too often and a lot of people couldnt get over it. Just because he can change doesnt mean people had time to like or forgive him or that he ever redeemed himself fully.

I like the fact that Nickelodeon was completely fine with the Joo Dee brainwashing, I mean seriously how the F*** were they cool with that, not that I'm against it ( the scene ), it's just strange is all.
