Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - AniMat's Classic Reviews

You’d never expect to see Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles together to fight crime, yet here we are. In this review, I’ll be taking a look at this movie, based on the 2016 comic mini-series, that may sound like an unusual crossover in concept, and as a DC direct-to-video animated film, you can predict what kind of quality is featured, but Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sure knows how to make the most out of its own novelty to be as weird and wild as it can possibly be.

There's a ton of animated crossovers. Thankfully this was one of the good ones I feel.

I mean it's like you said this kind of movie doesn't really need a story

I'm am a ninja turtles fan but for batman I'm am a fan of the franchise but not biggest like ninja turtles sonic or spongeBob but however I love the movie I agree that the story is a bit weak and the animation is good I love for the characters and action sences so for me a 8/10 would do it for me

Interesting crossover, who knew. I was a big fan of Batman, thanks to Batman the Animated Series and The Justice League from the Timverse. And I am just getting into TMNT where I got the entire series DVD for my birthday (which was on the 8th of Oct. So shout out to you Mat again for us celebrating our birthdays next to one another). And we will see another crossover with one of these IP's soon as we will see a comic release of TMNT and Naruto next month from what I heard. Also, yes, The Tale of Princess Kaguya. I saw that movie before my trip to Japan, and it was amazing, but so long. Sad this was Takahata's last film, as he was also working on a non Ghibli project called Modest Hero's at Studo Ponoc. Which was founded by former Ghibli animators.

Love how you combine the music I requested with the theme of the movie it's perfectly with the two different tones that these franchise bring

One of my biggest issues with most crossover movies ESPECIALLY ones that feature characters fighting each other is that if you’re going to do a VS movie then DON’T have them team up in the end. It just ruins the experience, i knew almost immediately that this movie was going to have that and that i would end up being annoyed by it. I want to watch these movies to see the characters FIGHTING each other not WORKING TOGETHER So far one of the ONLY movies that’s gotten this concept RIGHT is Captain America: Civil War Anyway next review is going be be Tale of the Princess Kaguya it looks like, which I enjoyed even though there was one thing in that movie that bothered me but I’ll talk about that when that review comes out

Personally while I’m not a huge fan of either Batman or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I’m very familiar with both franchises, rather it be with Batman with his movies or any of the animated series, or with TMNT with the 2012 series and just recently with Mutant Mayhem, now as for the movie, I definitely agree that while I wouldn’t say this is a great movie it is still a fun watch that gives fans of both franchises what they want, I will agree that while the story isn’t really great, it does a good job blending both franchises together, the animation does look decent especially with the way the action scenes are really well done and really fun to watch, on top of the creative ways they make the Batman villains into mutants, and the characters do still stay true to who they are and seeing both the Batman characters and the Turtles interact with each other is really cool, overall while not a great movie it is still fun to watch and works well as a crossover with both Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and manages to give fans of both franchises what they want. So the next classic review is going to be The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, which is definitely going to be really interesting.

Oh I know "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya" if I'm correct could be the next review.

Thanks. Now the question is is it any good?

Russell Ray Young

I love this movie and I liked your review

Russell Ray Young

It’s also not new, it came out 11 years ago.

Shane Vance

The Tale of Princess Kaguya is next.

Oh Yeah, I remember this one! I can tell you this was one of the most-demand DTV movies of its time, I saw a lot of videos about it too. In fact, before Mutant Mayhem, I was never into TMNT to begin with. I thought the entire concept was stupid and I hardly understand the fact they are Teenage Turtles since they act more like "Kiddish Adults" if I may. But Thanks to Batman, this gave me my first taste of getting to know the Turtles, and then I did see the appeal but not enough to get into the franchise as much as Mutant Mayhem. Still for what it's worth this one way to say the Best of Both Worlds!
