Christmas in New York - AniMat's Classic Reviews

Among all the Christmas movies that are considered the worst, there is nothing like Christmas in New York. In this review, we’ll be seeing this insane film created by Mondo TV, the same studio behind the infamous animated Titanic films like The Legend of the Titanic and In Search of the Titanic (Tentacolino). This holiday movie will give you the gift of learning the true meaning of insanely bad.

Well... it wasn't dull.

Me: This is madness Mat: Madness THIS IS MONDO Me: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Jeff B. Hughes

I agree. At this point, it wouldn’t surprise if all of Mondo TV’s works are just the crazy stories of a senile elderly mouse who clearly needs to spend more time taking his medication and less on social media.

Hunter O'Laughlin

The grandpa mouse skit was hysterical! And remember kids, "it's all a misunderstanding."

Edward Baillargeon

Might as well make Connors the mascot of Mondo TV since his twisted and surreal retelling of the sinking of the Titanic is an embodiment of the studio’s other films and shows.

Hunter O'Laughlin

Ahhhhhh finally a 2/10 I knew it it's been 5 years since animat give that review however next time choose a horror 2/10 or 1/10 music like conker the bad fur day game over that one is scary

SonicandShadowPlushChannel

Nice use of the Banjo Kazooie game over song for the overall score.

Max Cull

Did Mat just say X instead of Twitter? I must be losing it.

I’ll give it this, at least it’s an ORIGINAL story than something that’s based on a historical event that disrespects the people involved and the true events that happened, so it’s technically better than the animated Titanic films…. but just because it’s not as insulting as those films doesn’t mean it’s any good or free from any random or out-of-place moments. This is definitely something that is too surreal to actually exist and yet it does. I don’t think I’m missing much from never having heard or seen this film and I think I’d want to keep it that way. Also, another hilarious moment with your dubbing over Top Connors, his wife and his grandson’s dialogue from the opening scene of The Legend of the Titanic. It was a great follow-up to your original dubbed scene from your review of In Search of the Titanic, and I definitely do agree with the theory that this entire film is Connors’ attempt at telling his grandkids a Christmas story. In fact, almost every Mondo project could just be a fabricated story from a mouse gone senile either with age or from side effects of medicine withdrawal. At this point, Top Connors could just be the mascot of Mondo TV.

Hunter O'Laughlin

Is this going to be a thing to do almost a hilarious skit with the Grandpa mouse talking like he's always forgetting to his medication? I can see that being a thing in itself!

Alan Oliva

Great so it has finally come to this. I think it's even worse that it has a series. A SERIES! With how bad this turned out I'd be impressed to ask who would even watch it in the first place. Heck the plotlines even sound as ridiculous as the movie's. I can't comprehend what would be the buildup. What a waste.

Alan Oliva

I can't say I don't agree!

Oh bonus video! Edit: Ok so this was actually a request. Also new single for films the review 2 and under. And you picked a good one!

Strider_Blaze

This movie is honestly not just bad, but it’s honestly fascinatingly bad, this truly is one of the most insane animated films out there, then again I expect nothing less from Mondo TV, the story is absolutely bizarre and absolutely insane, the animation is not that good looking, the characters are absolutely obnoxious and awful, on top of that Mondo TV is just so fascinating when it comes to the stuff they do, overall this movie is absolutely bonkers and it definitely one of the worst animated Christmas movies of all time. So the next classic review looks like is going to be Persepiolis, which should be really interesting.

Justin Monti

Okay… wow. Another early video. I’ll be honest I would’ve been fine if this were released next week.

Alan Oliva

MAN! I haven’t seen you give a movie a 2/10 since Arctic Dogs! And based on your thoughts on this movie, I would choose Shark Tale over this any day.

Bryce Gundy

At least Ari had the decency to put on some clothes before going to New York for his mission to find Santa, as for the next review it looks like Persepolis is next. I remember watching Persepolis when I did a marathon of every movie that got nominated for best animated feature and personally I just found it kind of boring but one thing I do remember is when the main character randomly starts singing Eye of the Tiger which I’m sure will be brought up in the review
