Added 2022-02-03 19:21:04 +0000 UTCMain character references! The most important thing here would be their basic looks and outfits. There are already tons of little things I want to change (Poppy is a little too read, I want her to be a slightly lighter reddish-pink), but I was forcing myself not to worry too hard about making things polished. That isn't the point of the references! They're to give me an idea on 'established' body shape and what their clothes are meant to look like. I sketched out a base for Oryx as well, but didn't finish it alongside the others, and decided it wasn't a high priority; you can still have the sketch of her, though (maybe at some point I'll finish/give her outfits.)
The main note I think is worth making (and what kinda leads into my thoughts for February) would be that despite these references being in 'full-color', the colors of their outfits aren't likely to carry over into the comic itself. This is because I've long since considered coloring this comic, yes, but only in a psudo-watercolor style, with very VERY limited coloring. Essentially having the base colors of the characters bleed into the background, which will remain soft and dreamy, indistinct, and easy to draw details on top of or imply more defined shapes... It's kind of hard to explain, but the bottom line is that there isn't going to be A Lot of color. Still, I thought it would be worth figuring out what the colors might be for stuff like promotional art and the like.
(Oh, and as I'm sure you've noticed, I've included some more character concepts in this round. We've got some temple elders and some gardening gays... and a lot of censored, spoilery text, heh.)
