REACTION to YOUTH WITH YOU 2 EPISODE 01

I'm so glad you're watching this show!! Personally I enjoyed it very much. The relationship between the trainees in this is so wholesome, even in a highly competitive setting like this I felt like all the trainees were so supportive of each other and formed really good friendships. Also I love how this show is more liberal appearance-wise than some korean survival shows. With quite a few trainees that are not super feminine or does not necessarily fit into the strict asian beauty standards, but still slay like the queens they are. Plus, there are just so many unique and fun personalities in this.

Yeah, not happy about Jony J either. But he does admit that he has respect for idols now and what they go through during this show. I am not a fan of his in any way, especially because of the way he treated Minghao, but I do like the show despite him being in it. Though I don't like how he treats some of the trainees. He seemingly only has respect for the 'rappers'. Also, Minghao is a sweet boy and still supports and likes Jony J, even though Jony was mean to him. Minghao is precious.

Oh my, I was going to watch this when it first came out but then decided against it when I saw Johny J would be a mentor. He did a show with Minghao before this called CYZJ, it basically just collected 9 Chinese artists and had them collaborate with each other to make new songs or rearrange songs in their own styles. The whole point of the show was to collaborate with different artists so they could try different styles and maybe create something great but Johny J was a rap/hip hop artist and he looked down VERY much on idols like Minghao, Jun and Yanan and pretty much every other artist on the show besides an indie vocalist called Gong Ge. He made several snide comments about the other contestants but things really hit the fan when Minghao wanted to pair up with him for one of the missions. Minghao was a big fan of Johny J's music and so he told Johny J this and asked to collaborate with him but Johny J turned him down and said he wanted to work with Gong Ge because he made music that was more close to his style. Minghao accepted and paired up with another artist on the show and it was fine even though Minghao was a bit disappointed. Johny J didn't say much about the others being idols much after that so I thought he was getting better and opening his mind but in the end..it all went wrong. Minghao decided he wanted to work with Gong Ge but since Johny J only liked Gong Ge, Minghao decided to sit down with Johny J and ask him if he was okay with him teaming up with Gong Ge. Minghao explained that he really wanted to collaborate with different people while on this show because this is the only time he's able to do so because outside of the show he's controlled by his company (Pledis) BUT he didn't want to force anyone to work with him and didn't want to break up a pair. Johny J said it was fine for Minghao to choose Gong Ge and to work with who he wanted to so in the end Minghao chose Gong Ge and Gong Ge was happy to work with Minghao but at the last minute after all the pairs had been made Johny J suddenly asked to say something and took a mic. He stepped up and said he only wanted to work with Gong Ge on the show and no one else and he knew rules were rules but he didn't want to be on the show if he couldn't work with Gong Ge. Gong Ge stepped forward to say something and honestly, it looked like Johny J was pressuring him but he still said that he had nothing against Minghao but if Johny J was leaving the show he was too. Minghao offered to cancel his choice and let Johny J and Gong Ge work together but they declined and stormed out of the studio basically. In the end, Minghao was really flustered and upset, he even cried in an interview about it and honestly it broke my heart, it was my first time ever really seeing Minghao cry. After that he still trash talked idols on his social media and yet here he is, on a show to train idols??? Doesn't sit right with me. Apparently his wife even cursed out netizens who were disapproving of Johny J being on this show due to his distaste for the Idol industry.

Thank you so much for watching this show!! I enjoy Youth with You 2 so much and it's so easy to get attached to these girls! No spoilers, but I love seeing them here and where they are now!! 💜💜 I also would love to see you watch the first season! It has Minghao as a dance coach and Lay as the PD. It's super good too and actually was the way that I discovered Seventeen. I loved the way Minghao treated the trainees and then I had to know more about him. I know he is your bias and I am sure you will enjoy seeing him in that show!! ^^

i speacially like this season of youth with you, the girls are talented and i think is really good to have kun as one of the mentors because he won the first season so he knows how the girls feel

Honestly? I realy dont like this show. The girls are fine, but the mentors? All of the chinese survivor shows are so fake... A lot of fake reaction from the mentors... almost every dialogue is scripted, full with insincere pathos. Even if i love some of the girls, i just simple cant watch after 2 episodes because of the kitsch... Maybe now with you... I try it...

Excited to watch your journey with this show <3 I went into it with low expectations bc survival shows usually just stress me out, but I really enjoyed it. A lot of the contestants are super talented and have great personalities. I'm sure you'll fall for some of them like I did ^^ (Xu Xinwen loml)
