Okay this is now driving me insane. Is his plate inspired by 2000 AD Nemesis' snout?

Alec Ritter

They were fighting against the U.E., this is touched on in issue 7 😁

Callum Diggle

Were the Doggerland Knights fighting against the Imperium?

Chase Wilson

No, thank you, that was so nice to read!

Callum Diggle

I took a year's break in order not to binge the whole comic. During that time I had managed to forget how amazing it is. The art and art design are beyond cool, the story is neat, the characters remarkably likeable with their general friendliness and the worldbuilding is just fascinating.Thank you!

It rose out of the central banks and the global governance structure that began construction in the late 19th and early 20th century. Its foundation was a gradual process of ever increasing centralisation, the integration of international markets and the erosion of National sovereignty. Though media manipulation, the infiltration of institutions and government cabinets, they eroded National identity and created a transnational governmental infrastructure that slowly merged pre-existing nations into larger bloc-like economic zones where governance and law-making was taken beyond the national level. These blocs merged over time and the peoples of the world were non the wiser as they were dragged along into the brave new world of technological slavery, they were like slowly boiling frogs unaware that they were being cooked. Aldous Huxley said it best in 1958 - “A truly efficient totalitarian state of the future would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude.” The masses were lulled into a sleepwalk through over-stimulation and indoctrination into the new ideology of the state or “truth regime”. So long as the entertainment and the food kept coming, the majority of the populous did not rebel. Though, some groups did manage to rebel and create their own nations through the creation and leadership of their respective counter elites which lead rebellious movements against the hegemonic power of the United Earth. The ancient poet of Rome, Juvenal put it simply when he said “give them bread and circuses and they will never revolt.” and he was right for the most part. The U.E.’s takeover wasn’t an event or a calamity, it was a steady creep, a slippery slope.

Callum Diggle

Why exactly did the U.E. rise? Was it because of some crisis that made people come together to build a new system? It would be very interesting if the founders of the U.E. made it to make humanity less greedy and violent and that the world government thought to be a dystopia was once an effort to change human nature for the better.

He’s a total badass. You’re going to see a bit more of his life after this scene, things like, how he beat back the imperium, ingratiated himself to the Galactic Union and rose through the ranks to leader through his own merit. There’s lots of cool stuff to see coming up and so many visuals that I can’t wait to draw. I’m talking space battles, Womb-World warfare and more!

Callum Diggle

Wow, Deicide is kind of a badass? He's taken on both those Thought Lords at once without so much as a scratch, so far.

Mod 5ider

Both the Bo and the Vureii were around the same level of technological advancement. At their height, they were comparable to Humanity pre-All-Mother. They both would have had rudimentary interstellar capabilities, hence some of them being able to escape the Imperium invasion. the Vureii held one star system other than their home system under their dominion and the Bo held two. Oh yeah for sure, the sight would be dread inducing, absolutely apocalyptic.

Callum Diggle

I wonder how advanced the Bo and Vureii were when their planets were conquored. The Bo must have had space stations when the Imperium arrived at their world because it likely only takes the All-Mother a few weeks to take over a planet with less advanced defenses. I'm imagining a Bo or Vureii looking through a telescope and seeing Krakens approaching their planet.

Erika Spooner

Thanks so much haha I’m really glad to hear that you like them. Well, over the next few pages you’ll get to see them in action!

Callum Diggle

EXCUSE ME, *THOUGHT LORDS?!* Just when I thought this premise couldn't get any better, you drop a concept this Absolutely METAL. I am in love with every single detail about their designs Jeezus Cheist

Mod 5ider

That would be amazing, I have no current plans to do so, but I’d love to, It’s all just a case of finding time. It would be a great mini comic I think, from a Bo’s point of view showing their regular life and then their species struggle against the imperium. You’ve got me thinking now, it could even be from the point of view of that street preacher we saw back on Chiron in the township of Newg. It could be them telling a story to a passerby who stopped to listen.

Callum Diggle

Will you do a comic set on the planet the Vureii or the Bo came from? It would be very interesting to see what it was like for them when the Imperium invaded. I imagine it would be somewhat like War of the Worlds only the invaders win.

Erika Spooner

Hold up, I’ll update it again. Tell me if that works?

Callum Diggle

whenever i try to join, it fails and gives an error

I wasn’t aware there was a discord
