REACTION to BTS - BON VOYAGE S02 EP.01 & BEHIND CLIP
Added 2023-08-14 21:11:43 +0000 UTCAs explained in the beginning, I went back and forth on whether to postpone watching this or not given the devastation Hawai'i is currently experiencing. But I decided to use this as an opportunity to take advantage of our community here and share some links for those of you that may want to help, so here you go:
- Maui Strong Fund (organised by the Hawai'i Community Foundation, focused on rapid response & recovery within the community)
- Red Cross America (this has info, updates, a link to donate & other resources)
- Maui Humane Society (are in need of donations to help care for displaced pets in the wake of the fires. They also have an amazon wishlist linked toward the bottom of the page)
If anyone has any other resources they'd like to add, feel free to do so in the comments, these are just the ones that I saw the most and stuck out to me.
If you're unable to donate that's okay, not everyone has the means, but if you would consider at least sharing the links on your various socials that would be an amazing help as well.

For instance, groceries are roughly double the cost of what you would find in the continental US ($6 for a loaf of bread in hawaii vs $2-3 in other states).

A lot of people visit and talk about how they love Hawaii but don’t think about the Native Hawaiians or locals living there. It would be ideal if all the celebrities/millionaires provided support regardless of whether they own land on Maui or on other islands but if they cared about the locals they wouldn’t be buying our land and raising housing prices so 🤷🏻♀️ It’s unfortunate that we need to ask for donations from people who have significantly less than them, but if anyone has the means to help, it’s really really appreciated. We still don’t know how many lives were lost, and there are so many people with absolutely nothing. This isn’t really aimed towards you Kaia, but rather to anyone who may not know what’s going on. Again, I appreciate you and your donation so much Kaia, and I’m reminded of how much of an awesome person you are ❤️
