I've been patiently waiting for this one! Wheein really delivered this time with her first full length. I think Bittersweet has been the sleeper hit for me. It's a song that I wouldn't be surprised to hear on a Taeyeon solo album. Your point about this being her statement album totally resonates with me. I love that she gave us different vocal tones this time around as well. That note that sounded like Solar was gorgeous. In their earlier years, Wheein was such a chameleon in the group vocally. She could interchangeably sound like any of the other 3 members at any given point and sound beautiful doing it. She definitely leaned into the breathier style of singing in the last 3-4 years to give herself a unique tone. So it's wonderful to hear so many vocal stylings sprinkled around this album. Mostly, I hope Wheein is satisfied with this album and its promotions. She said on Bomi's (of Apink) Youtube the other day that an aspect of being an idol she doesn't like is the pace and impermanence of it all. "Over a years worth of work and prep" boils into an album that, once promotions are over, is done and almost put on a shelf. I know I'll keep coming back to this release over the next year at least and hopefully she can keep releasing music for as long as she has something to say.
