Also I think the members had to film at all different times due to the members schedules. So they filmed when they had free time. Jun and Minghao during this episode were in China

2024-11-19 22:41:49 +0000 UTCEGO really stands up to scrutiny, even when removed from its context as idol variety content. The shooting location, set design, sound design (which I'm glad you pointed out b/c it's one of my fav parts of this ep!), and story are all masterful and place it in the highest echelon of idol shows (imo). The premise of eliminating each pair after they discover 2-3 clues is genius because it allows there to be continuous progress throughout the show and cuts down on repetition which could make it boring. It also removes the need to have the boys act (for the most part) because they are sincerely trying to escape while only knowing what the clues tell them and what they discover along the way. This is why I prefer EGO to Trap and Grudge (which are still great) because those ones require a bit more suspension of disbelief from the boys. I have always interpreted the story as them all being clones of Dr. Kim, rather than clones of multiple people. I view the quote from Dr. Kim during the final reveal that says, "Claims that I abducted people to do human experiments for research is far-fetched and an illogical stretch. This is false," to be completely true. He cloned himself for all of his drones/workers and test subjects. I also noticed that they styled all of the members' hair quite similarly; most of them have their parts in the same spot and the same bit of forehead showing through. This could just be a coincidental detail, but I choose to see it as intentional because we normally see more diversity in their hairstyles. Also! (Spoiler warning!) In 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy', the answer to 'the meaning of life, the universe, and everything' given by a supercomputer after millions of years of calculating is '42'! What a fitting combination for a padlock in an experiment that raises questions about consciousness and what it means to be alive!! You could say that Dr. Kim was obsessed with the meaning of life! Cool stuff :)

Usually I don't get freaked out with these kind of episodes but the way they filmed this series in particular was soooo creepy. I'm enjoying watching with you guys so much 🤭

They all went through it so bravely even if they didnt know what exactly to do 😂 Wonwoo was so smart during his turn he was so so close to getting out but he cant yet because the story would end too early lmaoo 😂😂 I also just noticed he also did a cute lil squint at the start because he didnt have his glasses yet Also mingyu sexy brain!!?? The way he pieced it all together is genius, i love him smm Kudos to all the actors as well, it mustve been hard for that guy who was just lying still on the bed waiting, the guy who was tied up, and the doctor waiting in the closet 🫡🫡 The next installment, Grudge, has a cool concept too but also very different from this one. Excited for that!!

2024-11-19 19:04:39 +0000 UTCFinally!!! Ego is always my go-to episode when I'm introducing a non-carat to watch going seventeen. As tori said, you don't need to know Seventeen to enjoy this one. And the storytelling is so amazing - this is my 6/7th time watching ego and I still got goosebump when Mingyu figured it out! Shout out to our scared but smart puppy! And I think that it is more fun when they are taking the more brave member (except Wonwoo our Gam3bo1 who is so good at this) and left the more scared one alone. And Woozi kept "Woah"ing the whole time which is the most cutiest thing in the world! This is trully a masterpiece that we can rewatch again and again.

2024-11-19 18:08:20 +0000 UTCThis is one of my all time favorite GoSe episodes - the execution, the sound, the plot and the way we can see how the gears in each member's brain was working - it's perfection! We have a lot of mixed genres in GoSe but even with all of them mixed, this one's like in the top 3 most amazing one for me. I was mindblown by Wonwoo's brain gears moving and finally figuring out the lock combo first, and Mingyu's realization when he pieced eveything together, that's the part I always repeat multiple times hahaha I was so excited for you to get to Ego and you both did not disappoint! As usual, loved rewatching this with you :) And I love the talking points in between haha looking forward to the next two for Novemberween! P.s. random fact - Mingyu shot this at 1am because he had schedules earlier in the day. He said he was really creeped out too so he wanted to finish filming asap that he skipped the salon and the makeup and just went through with it immediately

They didn't even know what they were supposed to do lol. I love how you can see it getting darker as the day goes on. Mingyu had some other schedule prior and so he went last. I believe he went at about 2am. Yikes!

My lightbulb went on when Mingyu figured it out. This is my favourite horror Gose content ever. Others came after but this remains in the top spot. I knew you would love it just as much. And I had a blast watching it with you.

I still can’t believe they did this whole incredible storyline few years ago, this episode ages like fine wine! So cool how it’s paired up and each pair leaves clues behind for the next team, they paired everyone perfectly in my opinion unfortunate Jun and Minghao couldn’t be there since they had schedules in china. Also some fun behinds is yes Vernon was tickling the guy and laughing 😭🤣 that’s why they tried to focus on Seungkwan. Mingyu I believed filmed at like 1/2am but mad props to him, he truly was incredible and brave with figuring everything out especially with that scene of him realising he’s a clone was chef’s kiss, the ending scenes game me goosebumps, our actors! 💯

2024-11-19 16:37:52 +0000 UTCthere's three type of brain in seventeen 1. jeonghan. him and mind game are soulmate. he is born to play any of that stuff, either to solve something, to win something, or to win people. he is master (also because he super competitive). he has that witty smart kind of energy. but sometime in lot of occasions, he just doesn't use his brain that much (not saying he is stupid) and doesn't take stuff seriously for the sake of fun (and content). man just wants to have fun sometime. 2. wonwoo. very. very smart. book smart type of guy that makes him very methodical and thorough when he tries to solve something. he takes his time until he eventually solve whatever in his hand clearly. so, the time limit is somehow not friendly with him. 3. mingyu. big sexy brain energy. but his brain somehow always work too fast for his own good. but he is goooood at working under preassure. he will talk and grumble A LOT but he manages to do well anyway. it was just all my opinion, but i just love these three dynamics. they always shine in these kind of games.
