On a side not those same battalions have the same markings on their helmets today. Even though the battalions are scattered across the Army with most still in the 101st Airborne (Air Assault), 1-501 is with 4-25 Infantry (Airborne) out of JBER in Alaska and 2-501 is with the 82D Airborne our of Fort Bragg North Carolina
