BO Plans for October 2024

Hi everyone, here is an update about content plans in October.

The thing I'm currently working on is a video about the LARC-LX (BARC), a very large amphibious barge-truck sort of thing that was used as a ship-to-shore connector by the U.S. Army and Republic of China Army/Marine Corps. It was comparable in capacity to an LCAC but instead of being an air cushion (like the army's also late LACV-30) it was basically a huge truck (originally developed to carry heavy and outsized equipment and vehicles the DUKW couldn't). There will be a segment about its service with Taiwan which isn't even mentioned on the Wikipedia page.

After that, I will likely be doing a collab analyzing a Malian rifle squad assault drill during pre-deployment training. I'm bringing on the Combat Arms Channel (former infantry Marine turned Army MI NCO and now an Army warrant officer) to talk more about the conduct of the drill and teachable moments. I'll basically be talking about the context of the training and what we can extract in terms of squad organization and weapons while he talks more about the tactics being employed, training limitations and maybe a bit on gear. It'll probably end up being a longer video, maybe 25 minutes? CAC's part alone is probably gonna be like 16-18 minutes.

After that I don't know for sure what I'll be doing, but I've been eyeing the U.S. Army's military police or maybe multi-role bridging companies (pontoon bridge units). I won't commit to anything yet but it'll probably be modern since the LARC video is predominantly Cold War. I'll probably be revisiting Latin America a few more times before the end of the year since people seem to like those. My wife is getting a surgery later in the month and we're trying to deal with this sketchy car salesman who has kind of screwed us over so we'll see if the third video is a late October or early November thing.

Unrelated to videos I added some new shirt and sticker designs to my shop (pictured above). I got my wife to help me by doing most of the line work for the Apache one and the drawing the entire M4A1 URG-I in the shark one over the past month to save me some time.
