Happy Tuesday Party Members! Hope you are doing well.
Last week, my Youtube channel celebrated it's one year anniversary. I had been kicking around the idea of doing something special for it, but truth be told, the date kind of snuck up on me. (Oops!)
It's hard to believe I've been releasing at least one song a week for over a year now (and two songs a week since January!) but it's true. And while it's been a grind, it has certainly had a huge positive effect on my life. Not only have my skills as a composer vastly improved, but it has connected me with a lot of great people whose kind words and support have gotten me through this past year (lookin' at you Party Members!).
When I started my channel, I had no intention of turning it into a long form story. I didn't even intend to use the same character sprites more than once. But somehow, my silly little videos, that were mainly meant to demo songs, took on a life of their own. Now people are sending me messages like "I love the dynamic between Indigo and Miranda," or "Can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter" or possibly my favorite "This needs to be a real game!"
As much as I love writing for these characters, I know at some point I will have to write their final chapter and move forward. I have a rough idea of how that will go, but honestly these skits are all thought up week by week. I don't really have an outline or anything like that. But when I do write that final chapter, It's got to have a lovely little send off tune, kind of like this one.
BUT! That time isn't here yet, and even though this track is called End Credits (...nah that's a crappy name...what about Beginnings and Ends..?), I still have a lot of gas in the tank! I'm really excited for where this journey takes us over the next couple of years. And I'm so thankful that you all are coming along with me for the ride!
Thanks so much everyone! Enjoy the tune and have a great week!
-Bert
P.S. Oh! I almost forgot. I included both a loopable version and a version with a definitive ending, so you all have some options with how to use it! Just thought I would mention that. :D
