His dad does get shown in a flashback selling his car to buy Senku science tools when he was little, but his face isn't shown. Pretty sure that this is what Darius was remembering.

the USA and Japan don't have any ability to take astronauts to the ISS currently, so they have to cooperate with Russia, since its currently the only nation capable of transporting person to and from the ISS. the ISS is also as mentioned above, international. some modules on it were even built by Russia. though the largest part of the Station is US built. Also you mentioned you are going to look back to the first EP to see Senku's dad. this is the first time his dad gets shown, the Anime starts with Senku at school in the science lab, with taiyu (idk i i have written that correctly) rushing in and telling him he is finally going to confess. then the world petrifies during the confession. and the next scene is pretty much 3700 years later.

That is very interesting actually! i wonder why they were all together just bc i always assume out national goverments dont work together on those sort of things!

I think it's really interesting to note the nationalities of the crew. The three that were already on the station: Yakov - Russian Darya - Russian Connie - American The three that came up to the station: Byakuya - Japanese Shamil - Russian Lillian - American So of the last six humans three of them are Russian, two are American, and one is Japanese. Also you'll notice that they flew up through JAXA, which is the Japanese equivalent of NASA. They also mention that Connie (being American) is from NASA. Might be fun to rewatch this part in the dub too as they have accents in it that make it more clear, like Lillian who sounds southern/Texan.
