This comment mostly covers it .only thing to add/correct is that Angra Mainyu isn't the Holy Grail, and basically it's corrupt a wish game you played in high school

2020-07-19 22:39:04 +0000 UTCHaven't seen your ep 25 reaction yet, but to answer your questions: You are correct Angra Mainyu is the basically the spirit that embodies the grail (I guess you can say he is the grail itself), but he needs a vessel in order to physically manifest in the world, so he need to use Iri as that vessel basically possessing her. However while the grail is omni-potent but not omniscient, that is the grail is all powerful but it is not all knowing. It can only act directly according to it's master's will and since Kiritsugu's only method of "justice" was to kill those who were evil on the lighter side of the scale and all humans have the potential for evil, then the only way the grail can create world peace (Kiritsugu's wish) is by literally killing EVERYONE all 6 billion humans except for Kiritusgu himself and his family. So the grail's answer for him is "let me kill all of humanity and then you can live in peace with your wife and daughter, thus world peace" and he rejects that offer by symbolically killing Illya and Irisveil. Because for him saving 2 lives and sacrificing 6 billion is against his moral code. In the end he rejects the grail and his own wish
