i wonder if you understood the part about him calling cityppl a lolicon for praising `adult`raphtalia now. im still not sure if it had to do with the whole thing happening with myne and naofumi blocking everything happening out. but i always think of it as having a pet. you dont see/notice their growth most of the time unless some1 points it out to you or by checking older pictures. i think something similar happened to naofumi and only now he realised she actually grew and isnt a kid anymore.

It's a world where slaves are forced to obey their masters through magic, and even without this slaves often do become brainwashed in the real world and defend their masters irrationally -- similar to Stockholm syndrome. There's no way to make sure she hasn't been brainwashed through abuse other than getting rid of the curse and trying to undo any brainwashing. Would you really take a slave-owner's word that their slaves are "treated well" so it's fine? And really, just because something is legal it doesn't mean it's right, the only reason slavery is illegal nowadays is because people violently fought against it when it was legal haha. Even in the original bit with Myne, from spear hero's perspective the four of them have been transported here with superpowers with no one being able to challenge them. Honestly I'd say most men would abuse that kind of power and force themselves on women, dictators are famous for it. So now he has a seemingly good-natured kind woman willing to risk her life to help the heroes crying to him naked and destroyed saying she was raped. What's more likely, that a guy with total power forced himself on her, or that she set up an elaborate plot to sabotage him? Myne is an awful human being, but spear hero is just a good guy who doesn't look into things very deeply. I think it's important he gets a decent defense, especially since most viewers of the show would probably be similar to him in that situation, lol.
