This is my favourite episode by far, especially when Saber points out how Kiritsugu has always wanted to be a hero in his youth. This show is so so good man

Just don't take it in a bad way. I wouldn't have become a patreon if i didn't like you. It's just geniunely odd to me that people with 2 jobs a day would be able to finish 12 episode anime in a week
Grea !

The philosophical issues in Fate is by far my favorite aspect of the show. Saber's argument with Kiritsugo is the classic argument of the ends justifying the means. To Kiritsugo, what matters is the result and in order to logically save as many people as possible he'll do whatever he has to -- as long as he's doing more good than evil then the end result is more good. To Arturia, combat is a part of humanity and we will never stop fighting each other, so the best we can do is accept that we fight and try to do it in the best way possible -- if we can make a necessary evil as good as possible then the end result is more good.
Kiritsugo's criticism of Arturia is that she accidentally causes more evil in the world, she is a fool. Arturia's criticism of Kiritsugo is that he intentionally causes more evil in the world, he is a monster. Hard to decide which philosophy actually causes more evil.
And get ready because Kirei is the most fascinating character in the whole show in my opinion, and he is a perfect foil to Kiritsugo. Expect commentary from me on almost any episode of Fate lmao.
