I don't read the light novel for the record so this can't be spoiler because I don't even have the info. I assume you guys are talking about the waves being more of a war than an apocalypse, but saying this is a spoiler is... actually a spoiler because you're confirming it, lol. Anyway, Naofumi literally states this exact idea and everything I said came directly from the episode, there's no other way for me to even know it lmao.

What possible reason would the second-in-line princess have for killing her first-in-line baby sister? What a dastardly and obviously false accusation... Also the conversation with Glass is pretty big. Naofumi has been told by everyone that the waves are a bunch of wild monsters come to destroy everything, but now he's met a person from a wave that's said "I have nothing against you, but we will win the waves instead of you." It starts to beg some questions, where do the monsters come from, why do they destroy everything, why only at specific times and then they have to leave, and why do we have a device that tells us exactly when they're coming? Also I'm pretty sure the waves don't have a set time that they last, they just randomly end which is why Glass was so surprised when it was about to end.
