I know this is over a week late and you may not see this but I don't think Tendo meant he lost his passion for volleyball after the match. This sport is a team based game, and Tendo and how he plays goes against team concepts. Up until he joined the High School team he has been rejected by everyone on the court because of this, something you can see when he first met the coach and Tendo telling him he just wants to play to make himself feel good. Tendo's head and eyes were down refusing to look at the coach thinking it would be rejected. For the first time Tendo had a coach and teammates that just said "hey go wild and you do you". Tendo knows that no other team will accept this though, so he would rather quit and keep the good feelings from his last team in his head. This is of course my opinion though.

2021-03-01 08:03:46 +0000 UTCQuick thing for the Land vs Air OVA that I've seen a lot of reactors get confused by (admittedly because they don't explain it well) - The OVA is about the 4 Tokyo teams fighting for a spot at Nationals, but the important thing to know that they don't tell you is that THREE of the four teams qualify for Nationals in Tokyo, not just the overall winner of the four.
