Kasko & Mom - Scene plan from 2018
Added 2022-01-17 11:00:05 +0000 UTCThese were made in 2018. That's crazy. Kasko even has his earliest design; he's melanistic and has scars on his neck instead of chest. This is where he got his nickname that I kept through his design change.
While I knew that Kasko's past in the woodlander herd wasn't a pretty one, I actually hadn't fleshed out what he had done so wrong to earn the hate of his herd. I didn't know it even when I first drew the confrontation at the Gathering, and kind of had to build it based on those interactions.
It's not always easy to work so loosely, but it's part of my creative process. I assume there will be plot holes and some illogical decisions in the comic's future, but this is still my first try. I don't cut myself slack often, but I try to do it with this project. Otherwise I'll just simply die.

I honestly believe most renowned published comic book artists also work loosely, which is why they will come up with other comics for separate characters later on to flesh them out. Of all the web comics I've indulged in, this is by far my favorite. I've really enjoyed watching how things have developed and unfolded. Kasko has always been my favorite character since his arival as I'm a huge fan of whitetail deer and see the unmistakable similarities, so I've been really enjoying and appreciating the effort and creativity you are putting into him. Thank you very much for all the hard work that you do! I've not been disappointed and am certain I never will by you.
