The bathroom glowed with a soft amber light โ candles flickering on the windowsill, steam curling from the bath like secrets rising into the air. The door clicked shut behind me, sealing the quiet in.
I let my fingertips trail across the edge of the porcelain tub. Still warm. Still waiting.
He stood by the sink, shirt half-unbuttoned, sleeves rolled, watching me in the mirror. His gaze was steady โ not hungry, not rushed โ but something that made my breath catch anyway. Like he was already touching me with his eyes.
I moved to him slowly, the hem of my robe brushing against my thighs. Every step was deliberate. Every second stretched long. I didnโt need words to say what I wanted. Not tonight.
His hand found my waist, pulled me gently closer until our hips touched, until my chest met his, until I could feel the heat rolling off him like waves.
We kissed โ soft at first, then deeper.
I could feel his fingertips slide beneath the silk of my robe, brushing against bare skin. My body arched toward him on instinct, like it had been waiting all day for this. Maybe longer.
He turned me toward the sink โ not forcefully, but with that quiet confidence I adored โ and I saw myself in the mirror. Flushed cheeks. Mussed hair. Robe slipping lower with each breath.
My eyes met his.
And I smiled.
The rest unraveled like ribbon โ slowly, intimately, beautifully. My robe slid down. His hands never left my skin. The world became nothing but warmth, water, breath, and the sound of my quiet moans echoing off tile.
He lifted me onto the counter. I wrapped my legs around him. The candles flickered behind us, casting shadows across our skin as we moved together โ rhythm slow, full of heat and hush and want.
Later, when we slipped into the bath โ tangled limbs and heavy hearts โ he kissed my shoulder and pulled me close. Water lapped around us. Steam curled between our fingers. And the only thing I could hear was the sound of him breathing beside me, steady and sure.
I closed my eyes.
And melted into the night.
