Community Update: Closing Out April - April 27, 2024

Hey everyone!

It feels like it went very fast, but we are already almost in May and that excites me because Canadian winters (especially outside of Vancouver) can be pretty depressing with the short days and everything being grey!

I am pretty happy with how April has gone, however I am really feeling my reduced production rate's impact on my income now, so I am probably going to do more like 5-6 videos for the summer months while YouTube income tends to slump. This will also help me prepare for the time off I mentioned in my last community update.

Fortunately, there is lots of exciting stuff coming in May video-wise: I'll be doing videos to cover Seattle's opening of its second proper light rail corridor, as well as the start of work on the Brightline West high speed rail project from suburban Los Angeles to Las Vegas. I am also hoping to finally do a long planned video on London's suburban railways, which is something I've wanted to make for a very long time!

As usual you can expect some extra stuff on Patreon this month, including another Polite Conversations episode, and another Chicago Blog post (I've yet to finish the series up!).
