FM24 - CUSTOM GAME SETUPS (15.02.25)

15.02.25
Hello everyone!
I have created another "extended db setup" called "IN BETWEEN" (I've run out of ideas for names. ๐Ÿ˜†). Download-Link at the bottom is updated.
This setup is between "very large" and "extremely large." The reason for this file is that I saw room for further optimization between performance and realism. For those who want more realism than the "very large" setup but find the "extremely large" setup too big, the "In between" setup is ideal. ๐Ÿ™‚

My next test save (date still open) will be done with this setup.

Cheers,
Daveincid

Hello everyone!

I have created 4 custom "db setups" and 1 "game_setup" for you for all default nations + 7 custom db setups" and 1 "game_setup" which includes all league files of my "List of files I recommend fo Football Manager 24".

The setups are designed so that there is something for weaker systems as well as for high-end.

The setups are my personal recommendation and can of course be adapted by you as you wish!

ABOUT THE SETUPS:
The setups contain now all FIFA-Nations from all continents. The latest update contains custom lower leagues for the biggest setup (extremely large). All other setups remain untouched.
In the last year's post I wrote down the exact numbers you can expect of each setup. This year it depends which mode you play. "Real-World"-mode has more players as in the other setups. So "Real-World"-mode might be a bit slower as the same setup in a different mode, but still much faster as in FM23!

DETAIL LEVEL:

The detail level with which various competitions are simulated must be set after the start of the game. (Options -> "FM Symbol" -> "Detail Level") These can slow down the game considerably, especially if your PC/laptop has few CPU cores (less than 8 cores and 16 threads). So it depends a lot on your hardware.

FOR ALL SETUPS I RECOMMEND:

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

Match Detail: All Competitive Matches

CONTINENTAL COMPETITIONS

Match Detail: All Competitive Matches (or the continent you are actively managing)

DOMESTIC CLUB COMPETITIONS

Match Detail: This is very individual depending your CPU. For smaller setups I would set the top leagues in England, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Argentina as fully simulated, not more.

IMPORTANT!

If the save becomes too slow, reduce the detail level rather than the number of playable leagues. I also advise against adding leagues at a later stage. Only the removal of lower leagues, for example if you start in league 4 or 5, could be useful.

HOW TO INSTALL:

These folders must be placed (if they do not already exist) in the same location as the "editor data" folder. So: Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024 (NOT INTO THE EDITOR DATA ITSELF)

The "game_setups" must be loaded during league selection (bottom left).

The "db setups" must be loaded via the "advanced db" when creating the game.

Enjoy;)

Comments

thank you:) You need to download the league files. Once put in the editor data folder, the custom game setups can be loaded. They also work if you don't put all nations in the editor data folder

Hi Dave, Absolutely phenomenal work. Thank you for the time and effort you put in for the FM community. Quick question to clarify, if I may. Does the extended setup automatically add more leagues, or do you have to download the other leagues you suggest extra (masterigor?) Many thanks again

as mentioned below this is very individual from person to person (patience). I personally would go with the large setup

What set up do you recommend for a laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS, great work btw

cups won't consume much so I would definetly add them fully in the league you manage. In other nations it's up to you. I would definetly set them in full detail in the top nations like France, Spain, Germany etc. This increases the chance that some lower league side might kick out a top club more often

Hi dave quick question with the detail level ive got a pretty good pc i7 13700 howver im unsure on how to best implement the detail level. Is it best to load leagues from multiple countries. Should i load the cups in countries. so for example england like if i was to load prem championship and league 1 for example + fa cup (if so how much should that be main stages? thats what i tend to use now) any advice i would love on how you think is best to run for the detail level. I dont know if im just misunderstanding what youve put in your post. :D
