Time flies way too quickly, Frau Claudia! As the Bringer of the Cat Food and Owner of the House, I'm sure <i>you</i> are safe from your kitten's clutches. But if one of your neighbours disappears sometime over the next month, I know who I'll be pointing my finger at :O I have an answer for your first <i>Frage</i>, but it's probably the longest and most personal thing I've ever written on here. It's not something I talk about often because I still carry around some shame and humiliation from it. But I've seen how supportive this community can be, so I feel comfortable sharing it (or at least parts of it). It's basically an account of my own experience in an abusive relationship of sorts, and I know that there are people who've gone through similar (or rather, much worse) situations. So if sharing this story helps even one person in some way (like letting them know that they are absolutely NOT alone in that boat), then it's worth doing. Hey there, Frau Claudia! Happy almost Monday to you – still Sunday here, at least for another 45 minutes anyway! Your night sounds lovely, even with the kitten bringing a bat to you (our cat used to do the same when I lived at home). We are beginning summer here with a vengeance this week as we are expecting our first heat wave – we should be in the mid-90’s for most of the week, so I guess it will be inside and air conditioning for me! Love to be outside in the warmth, but the heat doesn’t love me. We haven’t seen any fireflies yet, but we have heard the peeper frogs, which always means that summer is here. Should see fireflies in another week or so! I am in a Fragen mood, so here are your answers: Crazy situation: Would have to say that our school is rather crazy right now. We have a principal who does not believe in punishment but being the student’s best friend, so our kids are quite out of control at the moment. The way they are talking to teachers and behaving is really ridiculous (the things my daughter shows me they are doing on Snapchat boggles the mind)– most of the teachers have given up trying to discipline the students because the office won’t back us up. When we confront our principal with anything that is going on, she looks at us like we are crazy. Oh, well, school is over in four days! Gross liquefied food: Just about anything! LOL Really, anything savory would be really gross to me. Besides, I am very picky about food textures, and other than milkshakes or yogurt smoothies, I don’t care for drinkable food. Saddest movie scene: I have many movies that I cry through, which my family thinks is really funny. Heck, I used to cry through telephone commercials when I was a kid! There are three movies, though, that just leave me a blubbering mess! I can’t watch Top Gun at all after the point where Goose dies – I just crumple to the floor and sob for some unknown reason! Another movies is The Notebook. The scenes between the couple when they are older get me every time! Who doesn’t want someone who will love them as much as Noah loved Allie? The younger love story is sweet, but it’s the nursing home scenes that leave me a mess! The other movie is The Outsiders when Johnny Cade dies. I had such a crush on him, both in the book and the movie, that just weep through the end. Hiding a giraffe: Hmmm, I’m stumped on that one! The only place around me that would tall enough is my school – our commons area in the middle of the building is an open area that is three stories high. Unfortunately, not sure what the giraffe would hide behind! Girls who wear glasses: Sure! I wear them for reading and grading papers – maybe a sexy school marm or clay artist scenario where he removes your glasses to see your big beautiful eyes… *sigh* okay, enough of that! It's rather quiet in my little neck of the woods. Tutored online from 8 til 12 this morning, then helped my daughter with her homework. Getting ready for the last week of school - Yay! I cried a bit, laughed with my kids a lot, and gave and received tons of hugs as I said goodbye to my “babies.” I was invited to my favorite student’s graduation party (I know, you’re not supposed to play favorites, but I taught her three of the past four years and she is like a daughter to me!). It was so nice as I saw many of my former students and got to visit with them. All in all, a very lovely day. Okay, the answer to your Fragen since I missed them: Burst out laughing: When I was at my father’s wedding. My parents had been divorced for a couple of years and he was getting remarried. I was 11 years old and I was sitting in the church during the ceremony (wasn’t allowed to be in the wedding); I got such a huge fit of the giggles that I couldn’t stop – I just thought my dad and my soon-to-be step-monster looked ridiculous. Well, my giggles got my brother started and neither of us could stop. My step-monster never forgave me for that! Swallowing: I have, but I prefer not to; I usually pull out before. I will swallow if I am too late; spitting is just not me. Things lying around the house: Well, I have to say I would not be thrilled if I found undergarments that belonged to another female lying around! LOL I also would definitely not be happy if I kept finding bugs running around the house. Clean up: It all depends on time of day and how tired/relaxed I am afterward. I really hate being sticky, but if I am just too relaxed, I don’t care. Painfully cute: When my daughter was about two years old we had her in daycare as both my hubby and I work. When we would bring her into the school to drop her off, she had to go to the infant room for the first hour or so. She was always excited because she could “pet” the babies when she got there – she would walk around the room to all of the babies and pat them on the head like they were puppies. It was the cutest thing! Dumbest lyrics: Okay, I was a huge Duran Duran fan, and, while I love their music, their lyrics have to be some of the most convoluted ones out there. The most ridiculous song, though, one that makes me laugh every time, is “Tell Laura I Love Her” by Ray Peterson. It was this dead boyfriend song from the late 50s and it is the stupidest story ever. I laugh hysterically and sing along to it whenever I hear it. (Sorry, Laura Emily, the name is beautiful, but the song….LOL) There you go, Frau Claudia. Have a lovely Sunday, everyone!

My ex was telling me about how he had orthopedic shoes when he was young. He was pretty upset while telling the story. And all I could think about was Forest Gump getting chased by those boys in the movie and him saying "From that point on I was RUUNNIING!"
