A stupendous Sonntag to you, Frau Claudia, and to the rest of you playful partridges in pear trees! (Ooh, I bet you can guess what I’m going to call you guys tomorrow! 😁) I’m presently unwinding with a cup of chai tea, some gingerbread cookies (!) that I finally found at the grocery store, and a heating pad on my lower back because no exhausting day is complete without mechanical back pain! 🤕 <b>Remembering dates!</b> Oh man, I’m shitty at remembering important dates. I mean, I know the birth dates of everyone in my immediate family, but I pretty much can’t remember anyone else’s. I need to write down when I have doctor/dentist appointments so that I don’t forget. And depending on how erratic my work schedule is, one day can seem to bleed into the next, so I deliberately wear watches that list both the date and day of the week. 😬 <b>Po-TAY-toe or po-TAH-toe?</b> I say “picture” <b>Breaking the law!</b> Well, it would depend on what law I’d have to break to save my loved one. I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to commit mass genocide to save one of my family members, but I’d probably embezzle money, perjure myself in court, or commit another lesser crime. If I had to choose between saving my loved one or saving a stranger, I’d pick saving my loved one. If that involved having to kill the stranger...well, that would be a really, really difficult decision to have to make, though if my hand was forced, I guess I would do it. But with that in mind, I wouldn’t be offended if anyone here said that they would kill <i>me</i> in order to save one of their loved ones - you do what you gotta do for the people you love, right? 🤷🏻‍♀️ <b>Ring or vibrate?</b> I need the sound on. Sometimes I don’t hear my phone vibrate and I usually leave it in my purse while I’m working, rather than carry it on my person. <b>Gullible or nah?</b> I’d like to think that I don’t fall for tricks easily, but I’ve of course been fooled before 🤨

Hello, my Queen! A lovely Saturday to you! I have returned from my sojourn to my in-laws where my mother in law does not have/believe in the internet, so I was only able to use my phone. I escaped the family before things got <i>too</i> bad—when my mom started yelling at my dad because he threw out her mail (he does this regularly because he doesn't pay attention/care when things aren't his), I knew it was time to go. Now I'm home with the comfort of my personal pumpkin pie and some hard lemonade. Tomorrow starts the process of getting my ceilings finished. Hooray! And now, this: <b>Code-switching in conversation</b> — I suppose I do speak differently depending on my environment and audience. For instance, when I'm at a conference and first meeting people, or when speaking to children, I do try not to swear so much. 😅 <b>Spelunking vs ghost-hunting</b> — I would much rather be lost in a haunted hospital. Caves can get dangerous in a hurry, and no one could come to help you. I'll take my chances with the ghosts and a loud voice that might be able to bring help. Hospitals don't just sit in the middle of nowhere, after all. <b>Put yo ketchup in the fridge!</b> — I do refrigerate ketchup, mostly because it's a convenient place to keep the ketchup. I suppose it doesn't really <i>need</i> to be refrigerated, but my other key condiments do (like mayo, salad dressing, etc), so I keep them all together. <b>Rey-Rey on Olympus</b> — As a child, I loved both Athena and Artemis, so I would be one of them were I to take a place in the Pantheon. I seemed to jibe with the virgin war-goddesses—gee, wonder why <i>that</i> was? 😆 <b>The Alexander head-turn</b> — My head turns to the left, which makes no sense, because my front door is over my right shoulder. ("The Alexander head-turn" was a descriptive term coined by my college Western civ professor to explain the distinctive head-turn shown in many Classical busts and sculptures—particularly those of Alexander the Great.
