I just got back from seeing <i>Avengers: Infinity War</i>—and without spoilers, I can say that it was well-paced, well-acted, well-scored, and well, Thanos may demand my silence, but Thanos can go f*** himself. :V When Captain America returned to the screen for the first time (some of you lovelies may have seen the stills of him with the longer hair and well-kept beard), I also got to have the awkward moment of my mother leaning over to me and whispering "yummy!" in my ear. I count myself luck that she doesn't feel the same way about Colin O'Donoghue in <i>Once Upon a Time</i>, because he's the live model for my co-author's character (whom my character is dating) and I don't need that kind of cross-over in my life. And now, this: <b>Rey-Rey the prophet</b> — Can't say as I have, no. Of course, our family loves to tell the anecdotes that all families seem to do about how there's a little bit of a psychic gene because Grandpa Ted knew that Timmy had broken his leg out in the cow pasture one day even though he himself was in town at the time. And of course, I'm as good as anyone else at predicting future behavior/events based on past behavior/events (see: my advisor not listening to me about our underpowered water chiller). But as for a genuine, "I dreamed it and it happened" sort of thing? Nope. <b>Ranking the day</b> — I'd say today is a solid 3.5. The movie was good, my parents behaved themselves, nobody died, etc, but I did only get 5 hours of fitful sleep last night, and all I've had to eat on the day is movie theater popcorn. (At least I can still have movie theater popcorn!) <b>Rey-Rey in pictures</b> — Just the title, or does the plot come along with it? On title alone, probably <i>The Imitation Game</i>, since so much of my life has been spent pretending to be something I'm not—whether as a hobby, as for writing or gaming, or in society on the whole. On title + plot...I dunno, probably <i>Real Genius</i>. I would probably respond similarly to the news that some piece of tech I'd helped to invent was about to be used as a weapon of war. <b>The worst little emergency</b> — Oh, yeah, I've gone several times without toilet paper in the bathroom stall. As embarrassing as it is to call out to the folks on either side for toilet paper, it's 5 times worse when you're absolutely alone in the bathroom. I've experienced both cases. 0/10, would not recommend.

I'm still recovering from this past very trying week that was inventory 🥴 Plus, one of my supervisors...let's just say that underneath her "friendly chipper wit" that she puts up around me...I saw that her faith in me and my ability to other things at this job is very, very low 😒 I'm trying to get outta there... Anyways, time for fragen! More or less options? I'd have to say it depends; I do like less options, but when it comes to stuff like food, I like more options. TV episodes back to back, or weekly? I don't really watch TV, so weekly is OK with me. Which wrist do I wear my watch on? My left wrist. Sometimes, the right. Do I crack my neck? No. When I try, nothing happens. How often do I have deja vu? Kind of often.

Hallo to Claudia and the Fraugen! Well, I'll be going to see my realtor's kid's school play this weekend, so that might be kinda funny! Not sure if the humor will come from the performance or from the fact that I haven't seen the rest of his family in at least 15 years. (His wife is a childhood friend of my mother's, or else I wouldn't be going, because without that connection, this is just weird.) And now, this: <b>Brain freeze flavor</b> — It can be tough to find in a dairy-free version, but chocolate chip cookie dough is my favorite ice cream flavor. There is one brand that makes it, and it definitely fools my taste buds when I treat myself; but dairy-free and legume-free options are relatively expensive, even with coupons, so it's not often. <b>Flavors of the largest continent</b> — The answer to this used to be "Szechuan hot pots," but technically, those are not safe for me because of the bean paste. Besides, now that I've had Nepali momos, I like those much better. I even make them for myself from time to time, though they're quite labor-intensive. <b>Eat your veggies!</b> — I really like a good cucumber with ranch dressing. Not quite as good since I've had to learn to make my own (very runny) dressing, though, so lately, I tend to prefer corn on the cob. <b>The chickiest of flicks</b> — Erm...chick-flick <i>movies</i> or do TV shows count? Because <i>13 Going on 30</i> is probably my favorite chick-flick film (you can tell I don't watch them very often), but <i>Once Upon a Time</i> tops it by far. It's really all downhill after Season 1, but so much of it is so enjoyably bad that I like it, anyway. <b>Songs on the sly</b> — There are a lot of songs that I casually enjoy, but wouldn't necessarily want on my list of favorites for various reasons. Not sure which one is exactly on top, but the first one that came to mind was "Uptown Funk" with Bruno Mars. <b>Beach bum</b> — All two times in my life that I've been to a beach (two whole vacations to coastal regions at times of year that would permit beachcombing), I've liked the swimming, even though I noticed it's much harder for me to swim and breathe through a snorkel now than it was when I was a child. Nevertheless, it was a fun experience, especially on the reef. <b>Feathered friends</b> — The black-capped chickadee holds a special place in my heart, followed closely by the Bullock's oriole. In both cases, this is because I had particular birds become "buddy birds" in different years when they perched on my windowsill and came back day after day. They were never fed, never lured; they would just come and sit and chirp while they stared through the window. My dad joked that I ought to write a book in which the oriole in particular (who showed up when I was a teenager and fully into writing all the time) was some sort of enchanted prince who was looking for my help. 😂 <b>Rime of the Ancient Nursery</b> — Hmm; I've never really thought about this. Though I'm sure it wasn't my favorite as a child, I can't remember which one was, and the first to come to mind was "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep."

Things are good! Just got my first tattoo a weekend ago, and I got a second one last weekend. They're healing up nicely and I love how they look! I got the Nordic rune for power on my left arm and the Nordic Rune for Strength on my right arm. So happy with them!

I just found out last night that my dad is cancer-free after a minor surgery &amp; 6 months of chemo, with no expectation that it'll recur. So yay! Otoh, I just found out last night that my dad *had had* cancer, minor surgery, and 6 months of chemo... (He lives 2000 miles away, so we haven't been able to see each other in person in the last 6 months, but we have talked multiple times on the phone in that time.) He didn't want to worry me, the precious &amp; considerate absolute langer. ... It's gonna be an interesting day? 🙃
