(It blows my mind that <i>"microbino mio"</i> [my little microbe] is actually a term of endearment in Italy 🤯 If I ever have a kid, that’s definitely going to be his/her official nickname because science! 🤓👍) I see the murder kittens are still up to their old bloodthirsty tricks, my good Frau! I’m calling it now - one day they’re going to bring you back remains that look eerily human in nature, but they’ll look so cute in the process that the concept of them moving up the food chain will be unthinkable 😧 <img height="190" src="https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/b/cute-kitten-15088243.jpg"><br><br><i>(<u>Pictured</u>: Totally not a murderer...or is he?)</i><br><br><b>Boys vs. girls!</b> I think I prefer female singing voices over male ones. Of course talent has nothing to do with gender, but I like listening to sweeter, higher tones moreso than deeper ones. <b>Being tailed!</b> I’ve only once thought that I was being followed while driving, and it freaked me right out. At the time I had just taken an exit off the highway and was entering the small city where I live. I didn’t think anything of the car behind me taking the same exit or making the same left-hand turn onto a major street. But when I noticed that the car was still right behind me 4 or 5 turns later, I started getting a bit concerned. I couldn’t think of any reason why someone would be following me. Neither of us had cut off the other on the road, nor had we honked at each other at any point. I figured it was all probably one big coincidence, but just to be on the safe side, I pulled a last-minute right-hand turn into a mall parking lot. The car behind me continued to go northbound straight through the intersection, and I quickly drove around the back of the mall onto a westbound road. Coincidence or not, I luckily never saw the car again 😯 <b>Aliens!</b> Err...I suppose that would depend on the alien’s initial reaction to <i>me</i>. If it looked friendly or at least non-threatening, I would try to stay calm, speak to it in a slow, quiet voice, and not make any sudden movements. If it looks like it’s about to mess my shit right up, I’m probably going to be hauling ass out of the vicinity 👽😵 <b>Pasta sauce!</b> Oh God, I miss pasta so much 😭 I’d probably have to pick a creamy rosé sauce as my favourite, but I’m also partial to bolognese 🤤 <b>Instruments of badassery!</b> I think shredding on an electric guitar would definitely make someone look cool 🤘😎🎸

I see London, I see France....

Well G, it's 10:00 am or round abouts and I just woke up. Summer vacation rocks! My students get all excited, but they have no idea. I know, I'm a lazy bones, we can't all be morning people. I'm a night owl--hoot, hoot. 😆 I've finished planning my trip to Ireland, first 3 weeks in July. I found an awesome sling bag I had forgotten I purchased at the thrift store that is perfect for the trip, so that was uplifting. I got this amazing thing at the store yesterday for hiking, it's called a life straw. You put the straw into water and as you drink it purifies it. Such a godsend as I seem to never bring enough water when hiking. I can't wait to try it out! Other than that, I'm just enjoying the sunny California weather. It's 99F today so not too bad. Hope all is well with ye. Can't wait to ketchup with ye via ramble. I've missed your rambles, they are the bestest! Xoxo

Critters will likely win, as my niecelet solemnly gave me a €0.10 coin before I left, and I equally solemnly promised I'd use it toward buying her something dinosaur-, frog-, or cheese-related. So... a stuffie frog? Maybe? Dinosaurs are not thick on the ground here, and I'm not sure I could handle the over-weight luggage fees or customs fines in any case... "Aunt Brigid, I want you to have this coin when you go on your trip. It's ok to spend it, even though I won't have it anymore." "Thank you, sweetie! Are you sure? What if I use it to get you a gift from Ireland? Would that be ok, even though you won't have the coin anymore?" "That's ok. I like dinosaurs, frogs, and cheese. You can bring me back a dinosaur, or some frogs, or cheese. Cheese that everybody likes, though. Not just one person. Or a frog. Or a dinosaur."
