For the story of it, since that's obviously what you were creating. I needed longer to be emotionally invested in the relationship before the intensity of the intimacy. I think this is because I was not a character in the audio but rather a listener only so I needed more to 'watch' it in my mind. A funny thing, in my playlist "Going Down" started playing immediately after and I was so inside the audio and my feelings I was SOO confused hearing you say C'mere, Come closer ...closer.. I think making this audio very story-focused was an interesting approach. When I was listening to it, there were a few points when I felt that the characterization was a bit...off. For me, it seemed like a bit of a stretch that the characters would go from 5 years of a "strictly business" work relationship to a dynamic of undying love and devotion after one night of passion. But with that said, I don’t really know a whole lot about the characters, and I’m sure everyone could envision their backstories a bit differently. Maybe there’s been a whole lot of sexual tension or several tender moments between them over the last 5 years. Maybe BodyGael is even a bit obsessed and starstruck with the listener’s character. Or maybe the listener’s character is emotionally starved for love after a series of unsuccessful relationships where people only wanted to exploit her celebrity status. The possibilities are endless - and I think that’s one of the fun parts. In a more open-ended, story-focused audio, listeners can fill in the blanks and colour in the characters however they want 🤓 In that respect, Bodyguard reminded me a bit of Bloodlust Part 1. In both audios there was a character who <b>[SPOILER ALERT]</b> was willing to die for the other character in the name of love (i.e., BodyGael and the apothecary respectively). When I first listened to Bloodlust Part 1, I found myself thinking <i>"Err...yeah, I wouldn’t choose ending my mortal existence to spend eternity with someone just because I have really hot dream sex with them. There </i>has<i> to be more to the story than that!"</i> And there <i>was</i> more to the story, as we saw (or rather, heard) in Bloodlust Part 2. That’s not to imply that Bodyguard necessarily needs a prequel (although I think that’d be interesting to listen to!) Rather, I think it illustrates how tricky it can be to develop an original story in 20-30 minutes, especially when you have to simultaneously focus on acting, sound effects, mixing, and basically the rest of the audio creation process. I know that you spend hours upon hours making your audios, but none of us have actually <i>seen</i> what that process looks like from start to finish. I think Bodyguard is a very impressive audio overall, and for you to have created it single-handedly is remarkable. As far as the ending goes...I don’t know whether or not you have more of a story left to tell around that (e.g., miraculous recovery, BodyGael comes back like Patrick Swayze in <i>Ghost</i>.) But if that <i>is</i> the final ending...well, hey, why not? Sure, it’s a bit of a heartbreaker, but not every story has to have a happy ending. Plus if you’re looking to one day branch out into doing longer, more complex audiobooks (I’m talking full-length novels featuring other voice actors/actresses, more elaborate plots, etc), making audios like Bodyguard is a great way to hone your skills and further develop/diversify your portfolio 👍 Oh, and before I forget, I gotta show some love for the Gaelic 😍 I’m not 100% sure of what you were saying (I always just assume that whatever you say in English immediately after is the translation 🤔), but I bet it was really sweet either way 🤓👍 #teamMOARgaelic Overall impression of the audio: <img src="https://thumbs.gfycat.com/PolishedHeavyBushbaby-max-1mb.gif" width="190">

This was amazing!&lt;3 Hands down officially one of -if not- my favorite audios ever. Thank you Gael, like thank you I got to be the Whitney Houston from my favorite movie of hers. I have a mountain of ideas for a sequel (or sequels) to this, starting with BodyGael waking up in the hospital...but they're probably a little too heavy for this brand. But I am so with you on the story-heavy audios. I certainly don't require them all the time, but the idea of tossing in one every now nad again is a good one.

That dychotomy gentle lover/fierce fighter 😍😍😍. So alpha. Emotionally engaging right from the start. Plot intro - so clever.. Idk how u pulled it off btwn limited time &amp; relying solely on first person; big budget movies don’t often hook u so quickly. Love-making - On fire. Btwn Gaelic (never enough Gaelic), romantic pillow talk, ripping clothes off w belt, intensity. Fckkkkkkkk!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥😍😍. Even pace was on point When u said “slow down, slow”; was exactly in that space. lol Personally, I think ending was an excellent &amp; gutsy choice. I did spend a LOT of time trying to get it as good as I could. Audio is a complicated thing to do, between finding time and space and the right mindset, creating scenes, deleting scenes, fixing plot holes, deciding what kind of acting to approach it with... ya know, you under-cook it doesn't work, you over-cook it doesn't work...but you gotta over cook coz people can't see ya ;). You know, it's interesting. I'm a Scorpion. I surround myself in darkness and dark things. So, the dark themes portrayed in this audio don't necessarily trigger me. Far more intense than even that for me is the emotional depth of this piece. The want to protect at any cost. The lovemaking. The profession of undying devotion. It punches me in the gut in the most gut-wrenchingly beautiful way. In this instance, I have to say, I am especially glad that this is only make believe. I greatly admire your willingness to take on these darker themes, but still take them and make them your own, G. Really liked it except for the last 8 minutes. So confusing. I wasn't even sure who got shot until I read the comments. (Is he dying? Or is he crying? Ohhh dying. What?) I dunno, there's phenomenal story telling and very sensual sexy time. So a 7/10 maybe? If there's more story as time goes on it would help. Gael, I'm sorry, I didn't like this one. Not because of the dark themes, but because of the ending. I feel as though after all of the emotion that took place throughout the audio, the ending should've been more hopeful, instead of a sad one. Having said that, I do appreciate the work you put into all of your audios, and just because I didn't like the ending of this one, doesn't mean you're gonna lose me as a fan.
